Really interesting to see how many lines of play there are with Pod and how useful it can be..
Do you guys think a deck using it and Sunforger would be too unfocused? I've been trying to brew a Marath deck in my head and like the idea of both cards having their uses, but dunno if both would be overkill...
Looking forward to the next Quickie!!

I feel that sunforger and pod can be in the same deck but they will take up a lot of the slots in the deck and won't let you get too creative with deck building.

@@NitpickingNerds Seems like a fair observation, though I wouldn't be super worried about being really creative lol

So what is a good ratio of 1-6/7 creatures that should be run? I'm wanting to make a Simic pod deck but I don't know where to start.

You’ll want to turn most of your ramp/removal into creatures with ETB/does effects that fill the same roles. You definitely want a few one drops (3-5) which could even just be mana dorks. I would say focus on a larger number of 2-4 drops, maybe 7 or 8? Probably don’t need more than 6 four drops though. Then you probably only need three or so of every number higher. In the end the exact numbers are pretty arbitrary, but you want the bulk of your pod chain at 2-5

How do you get pod out consistently?

A high density of tutors and other cretaures/planeswalkers that grab artifacts like Tezzeret the Seeker or Sphinx Summoner.

You don't really have to. It's still commander (singleton 100 cards). A lot of decks naturally just want to play a bunch of creatures as payoff for other "creatures matter" cards, possibly including your commander.
A lot of cards that are worth fetching up with birthing pod are worth playing in many decks anyway. Like, if I'm playing golgari value/sacrifice, I'm going to play eternal witness, Skullwinder and Reclamation sage most of the time and then possibly also wood elves or whatever. There's plenty of value 3-drops you'll happily get from your deck.
Like, at 6 massacre wurm is just generally a great card. Or Woodland Bellower (lets you fetch a 3-drop from your library and puts it into play directy). There are so many great creatures that even if you don't see birthing pod three games in a row, you'll not suddenly run into trouble.
Maybe you still want the question answered and you're specifically asking about mono green, because outside of green... well obviously tutors (either generic black ones or artifact tutors in red and blue. White's tutoring for artifacts is very rare, I really can only think of Enlightned Tutor.)
But in Mono-Geeen? You kind of just don't and accept it or play a different commander with more colors.

You play with this card and Pyre of Heroes in a Cleric deck where Pyre becomes yet another way to look for Clerics instead of your only way.

Back when you had a regular human voice, instead of the fake UA-cam voice/energy 😂
