I should start a series where I just paraphrase and terribly regale various pieces of lore! If you like what you see and would like to support the channel and charity when you buy, consider picking it up at this link - www.humblebundle.com/store/warhammer-40000-gladius-relics-of-war?partner=PartyElite ! Cheers!
PartyElite please do. I don't understand any of WarHammer lore in any of the fields, literally all I know is from your videos, I would watch the living sh*t out of some kind of joke series like this
PartyElite as much as i would like to watch you do a let's play... it might prove dificult.. due to the article 13 that the european parliament is trying to pads th 4/5th of july...
PartyElite 4:23 and in that vein.. who are these Necrons? The tomb kings but in the future? How did they progress outside of whatever the earth equivalent for WarHammer is? I thought The Empire were the techy guys, and that I guessed Chaos only got out because... god's and stuff and the corruptible minds of men? And how did elves leave 'earth'? They don't seem very techy in the WarHammer Let's play series right now! And speaking of, how did men manage to leave earth at all? And did Dwarves do the same? They seem to have comparable tech to men. See, so many damn questions.
thomas ravard have you contacted your EU representative?? Go to savetheinternet.eu or Google that.. in case I effed it up. It allows you to automatically send an email to all your MEPs in your country saying you oppose the new regulations, but you can write your own message (which is what I did) It's the best way to have your say and your voice be heard!!
Original Slim Despite pandora being developed by the same developers and the game being the same genre, the economy-managament in Gladius plays and feels completely different.
moiseman you mean a game that has absolutely horrible diplomacy, moronic AI, weird ‘reason’ why the ai hates you. Nope this game can’t be better than that
Not much has changed for Necrons in 8th. They're doing their usual conquest at the moment, though I havent delved into the Necron Codex that much. Also. Praise the Gods that we finally get a 40k strategy game.
The rebellion against the C'tan happened way, way back in the past, before the Necrons went to sleep. In 8th, not much has changed. The Necrons are still in the process of awakening and reclaiming. However, earlier this year the whole Blackstone thing was introduced (with the Forgebane box) and that clearly has something to do with the Crons (and the Warp, and therefore everybody else ^^). But what that entails exactly is yet to be seen...
Mogwai Man until they blasted their evil star gods into space dust, stuff the remaining pieces into pylons that allow them to enslave their gods. Then go to sleep because their King decided “ fuck this shit, i’ll go to look for away to turn necrons into necrontyrs again”.
My god those are some of the best succinct versions of Necron lore I could ever imagine. I'll try an encapsulate a quick summary in an upcoming episode! It's a bit much to write out, and I wouldn't do it better than the books out there!
Their lore is kinda dumb IMO but they kick ass in tabletop. Their gauss weapons are super OP; a basic Necron warrior has a chance of one-shotting a Land Raider.
Well I don't know to much of the Necrons lore so I would love to hear more about them =) It is also nice to see someone play a 4x game so do continue, please. Have a nice day.
Loving the new game. Never played a 4X-game before, the format didn't interest me too much, but adding 40k into the mix makes it so much more interesting.
Very nice video man, im new to warhammer 40k and I finished Warhammer 40k Space Marine 1 month ago, I just fell into warhammer now. Im really happy infact cause everything else started to ge boring and I love huge lore stuff. Wish I get this game asap.
You require Dawn of War 1&2 Despite what you may hear there is no Dawn of War 3 Also there's a lot of 40K novels. I always recommend the Gaunt's Ghosts series
Reminds me of endless legend a little. Very cool though, since I am kinda burned out on endless legend for now. Pandora, an alpha centauri clone feels like an influence as well.
Necrontyr: Fleshy beings, painful and short lives, incrediblle grasp of science & technology. Started a war with the Old Ones out of jealousy for their apparent immortality, quickly began losing ground. Discovered the C'Tan, brokered the deal for Biotransferrence becoming the Necron. Eventually, after forcing the Old Ones into desperate acts to stop them, they entered stasis to prevent themselves from being destroyed. The Silent King, realizing what hell he had committed his entire race to, gave one final order to the Dynasties: Rebuild the Necron Empire. Then, he sent himself into exile. Best part about the newer Necrons, as I started playing them when they were purely 'kill all life' robots, is that they are still themselves. Well, the royalty and higher eschelons are. They still have their personalities, and are all interpereting the Silent King's final order in their own way.
Great play through !!! I enjoyed how you read everything and explained.. love warhammer myself but as any gamer knows.. different company who made the game different style of game play ... thanks keep it up !
Do you have any insight as to if the devs have plans to flesh out more races as possible DLC? I ask only because I imagine there would be limited replay with just the starting 4
This game looks pretty interesting. Not sure about the UI though. It's very much based on Civ but less pretty I guess or is that something Necron specific?
I love W40k, one thin i hated about W40k is the strong focus on the humans.. right of the bat we got 2 human factions, i think they could have added another race like the Tau which is basically the only faction on W40k that is "good".
I love how 40k is basically ancient warhammer races but extrapolated as if they survived. Orks = Orks (duh!). Empire of Man = Space Marines. Tomb Kings = Necrons. Chaos = Chaos (duh). Norsca = Chaos Cultists. Goblins = Nurgle?
Well you said you don't want to be spoiled on 8th edition but they really advanced the story...Just a couple highlights, that actually happened before 8th edition, include Roboute Guilliman coming back along with a couple Daemon Primarchs and a giant warp rift splitting the galaxy in half. 8th edition is absolutely amazing and basically kicked off a new golden age of table top 40k due to the rules being SOOO much better, I highly recommend checking it out.
Stone Edwards simpler != better. Kind of like the old command and conquer games vs the new mobile game. Fluff wise, some very interesting developments, worth it on story at least
I agree that simpler doesn't always equal better, but in this case it absolutely does. Also maybe simpler isn't really the correct term in this case, I think streamlined would be a better term. The game was based on a rules system that was like 20 years old and absolutely needed a refresh. With 8th edition it was completely rejuvenated not just in my local scene but everywhere I look online. Granted there are some people who absolutely refuse to accept change but they are in the minority. At this point I couldn't ever see myself wanting to play an older edition as they just feel much to clunky compared to 8th.
Clearing trash for an hour didn't excite me all too much I must say. I hope the game really puts on the pressure later. Really felt like there was absolutely no resistance at all.
Hi Party, love your vids! regarding the law, i dont know much about it. when you did warhammer 2 you talked about all the factions in other vids - can you do that with these races/factions?
8th edition is more about chaos & Imperium, few things for the xenos. Necrons still awake and try to remake empires, they help sometimes Imperium against Chaos/Nids
Yeah, focus is mostly on the results of the 13th black crusade, roboute guillimans return, and a burgeoning if strained alliance with eldar. Also, Primaris Marines, aka the Space Marines' Space Marines, alledgedly stronger than the adeptes custodes
There's a bit of a Necrons vs AdMech rivalry brewing, though it's mostly detailed in the AdMech codex. AdMech wants the material Necrons use for their buildings (coined blackstone) because it has anti-Chaos properties. Naturally the Necrons don't take too kindly to AdMech plundering their stuff.
I really want to see more for the neutral creatures. Primarily about their behaviour, and interaction between them of with the player units. Another great thing lacking is voices for the units. But plz more ! ^^
I really hope ^^ lot's of amazing things can be done, I wish they made titans ! (a little bit hard to balance and they would take mutliple hex unfortunately)
Hero name: Sho-Khan Hero Type: Warrior Sho-Khan was going to be to be a great leader and guardian of his people, but instead his kind was tricked and left soulless. Now after 6 millennia of slumber, Sho-Khan has awoken. He heard of the Deciever's actions and became mad with anger. No one goes near Sho-Khan less they want to be ripped apart for many painful hours. The only place for him is the battle field, his fellow can only hope that his rage can be sated by this planets inhabitants, for even they fear his near endless wrath.
Perfectly honest PE, I would like you to livestream Europa with your buddies again, I want to learn that game and watching yall play helped me understand
ooh party plays EU4? nice! I've trained a few people to play that game - hands down the best way is to play a co-op mp game and have the veteran protect the newbie with like Castille/Portugal for example
Yes. Currently they have Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, Chaos, Necrons, Tau, Tyranids and Necrons. I'm kind of surprised there's no Eldar/Dark Eldar yet, but I'm sure there will be eventually.
There hasn't been any too new Necron lore for 8th edition. The basic premise that the Necrons rebelled against the C'tan and shattered them is still cannon. Will need to double check my Necron dex to make sure but you haven't missed much from the explenation this game gives. It doesn't seem to be set in 8th edition tho.
Its still Newcron lore based on the blurb given at the start. The only problem I ever had with it was the shattering of the C'tan. The rest of it is pretty good.
When you install this game it fucks with your games folder, because the name is so long it stretches out the entire folder sideways xD xD xD "Warhammer 40000 Gladius Relics of War Tyranids" I mean fuck me! xD
Warriors are mostly robot at this point. They walk in lock step and everything. Sometimes when getting blasted they "scream" the last fragment of personality left on their bodyes. The rest are a bit more self aware, the lower rank mostly on regard to their task, so for example inmortals keept their military mind intact and can make their own choices mid combat but outside that they are very limited. Overlords, lords, crypteks and the praetorians have full personality, asumming they havent been damaged in their sleep, or downloaded in new bodies too often.
Basically Warlock: MoA with a warhammer skin and a bit of CIV and Endless thrown in. Very very by-the-book 4X. Bland is the my only impression and I LOVE the IP and 4X games.
Zarguz Hedwaka space Marine had good atmosphere and lore, sucked otherwise. Shame that they borked Deathwing, could've been the 40k fps we've been waiting for. An alien vs predator stype of fps would work well I think, but would take a skilled Dev team to make it work
I'll admit that I didn't plan on watching the entire video however that's exactly what happened. I'm still not sure if this is my kind of strategy game. There were two crowds back in the 90's around Fifth Edition - Warhammer Fantasy Battle (WHFB) and 40k. Generally you belong to one or the other, but not both. I belonged to the former and have been a silent fan of the Fantasy side of Warhammer ever since the 90's. However, having grown up in a Mac household, we were limited to basically Blizzard Entertainment games (I.E. - Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo). Are there any Warhammer based games (both WHFB & 40k) that are based around the same strategy style/game play of Warcraft/Starcraft? I dabbled in Age of Empires: Age of Mythology, but it seemed a little too underwhelming at the time. Is it safe to assume that this game doesn't resemble that same play style? I sadly do not recall having ever played Civilization, as strange as that may sound. Keep up the good work my friends.
Have you had a chance to play the Dawn of War games? Might be a silly question to ask, but I like to cover all my bases when I'm trying to help folks find good games =D. Apart from that, you might be pretty hard-pressed to find what you're looking for as far as style of strategy game. I'll think upon it and see if there are some games I'm forgetting! Sidebar - If you enjoyed Diablo, I'd suggest checking out Inquisitor Martyr. It's been damn fun!
I do believe I've played Dawn of War (the first release) once, back when it debuted. If I remember correctly, it was the game the prompted me to look into a gaming supercomputer as a viable investment. Many years transpired and I had completely forgotten about PC games and all games for that matter. It wasn't until recently when I discovered all my old WHFB collection, that I decided to check out the current computer games on the market. TWW was precisely the game I was waiting for over these past 20+ years. So we started our research and with the help of Lionheart, we invested in an incredibly expensive gaming PC. Our main concern was longevity, meaning that we paid heavily for a computer that wouldn't be outdated in 5-8 years. Coincidentally, I started the whole process with Dawn of War 3 as my goal and its release looming on the horizon. That's when I discovered TWW during my research and I've been hooked ever since with over 2100+ hours on both TWW1 and TWW2. Honestly, I had completely forgotten about DoW until you mentioned it. I'll definitely be looking into the Dawn of War series again. Thank you for that suggestion! I'm beyond thrilled that these classic games from the 90's have finally been made into modern computer games. Battletech was another one I used to play back in the day that's now a Warcraft-esque style of strategy game. Now if only we can revive "Escape Velocity (1995)"... Keep up the great work my friend.

More replies for the algorithm.
Who are the Old Ones?? They have a big empire, which suggests.. the empire.. but kinda sounds Chaos-y..
Does anyone else see a huge similarity with Endless Legend?
Go take a look at Pandora: First Contact. This game looks like it plays the same.
I see it and I like it. Endless 4x games are some of the best imo
Yeah looks a lot like that but with a 40k skin...as I loved Endless Legend and I am obsessed with 40k I say sign me up!!!
I feel it's more Civs, But I would love an Endless Legends Version where you build up small armies instead of blocks of troops. NEED HEROES!
Original Slim Despite pandora being developed by the same developers and the game being the same genre, the economy-managament in Gladius plays and feels completely different.
First
edit: Waaaaaaaaaaait this is basically a Civ WARHAMMER 40k? TAKE MY MONEEEYYYYYYY
damn it xd
I highly doubt this will be as good as civ
moiseman you mean a game that has absolutely horrible diplomacy, moronic AI, weird ‘reason’ why the ai hates you. Nope this game can’t be better than that
scrub spotted
moiseman civ died after IV
The Necrons are my absolute favorite 40k faction 😍
I haven't played tabletop in ten years but back in 4th-6th when I was playing alot the Necrons were super OP on the table. Also Flayed Ones are badass
Thank you so much for sharing this game play. The Necron’s are my favorite faction also. It enjoyable to see someone likes them also. Thank you.
The DoW3 we all deserved. Finally 40k content! Definitely planning to get this game.
Not much has changed for Necrons in 8th. They're doing their usual conquest at the moment, though I havent delved into the Necron Codex that much.

Blackstone is pretty much a macguffin thus far.
I really liked it, keep posting more videos of this game
You bet!
YES YES, LET THE ALMIGHTY AND UNDYING LEGIONS RISE AGAIN!!! (hi from a fellow necron wargamer)
Out of all the races in 40k, the Necrons are the ones I know the least about lol.
Imperial Guard are my favorite army, can't wait to play them!
Gocker Dying alien race makes a pact with some evil star gods for immortality. They are enslaved and placed in metal bodies.
Mogwai Man until they blasted their evil star gods into space dust, stuff the remaining pieces into pylons that allow them to enslave their gods. Then go to sleep because their King decided “ fuck this shit, i’ll go to look for away to turn necrons into necrontyrs again”.

Their lore is kinda dumb IMO but they kick ass in tabletop. Their gauss weapons are super OP; a basic Necron warrior has a chance of one-shotting a Land Raider.
I like how this game steadily ramps up.
Necrons are 40k Tomb Kings?
Yeah.
They look similar, but i dont remenber the tomb kings shattering their gods and weaponizing them.
Erlantz Pradanos the egyptian theme is the similarity.
no, Tomb Kings are fantasy Necrons
Mogwai Man it wasn't emphasised, if they even started with it; iirc it was a 5tg edition fluff change that put more weight on the Egyptian theme
Love the tomb blade model and sounds, best bikes from the best faction.
Not even 3 and a half minutes in and I get hit with a pun. Oh Party! ;)
;)
This is a awesome series good job man
Well I don't know to much of the Necrons lore so I would love to hear more about them =) It is also nice to see someone play a 4x game so do continue, please.
Have a nice day.
Game is downloading now. Can’t wait!!!
I'm always down for more of this!
Loving the new game. Never played a 4X-game before, the format didn't interest me too much, but adding 40k into the mix makes it so much more interesting.
Yeah 4x, especially like this, can be a little bit on the slower side, and setting definitely makes a huge difference to the draw!
Definately want to see more, it looks way more fun than I thought it would do.
Very interesting. Yes please, more of this !
"Death stands above me, whispering low
I know not what in my ear
Of his strange language all I know
There is only pain and fear."
3rd Edition Necrons
Very nice video man, im new to warhammer 40k and I finished Warhammer 40k Space Marine 1 month ago, I just fell into warhammer now. Im really happy infact cause everything else started to ge boring and I love huge lore stuff. Wish I get this game asap.
You require Dawn of War 1&2
Despite what you may hear there is no Dawn of War 3
Also there's a lot of 40K novels. I always recommend the Gaunt's Ghosts series
def wanna see more, I d wish they would drop the price a bit for pre-order though
*Cast off the shackles of your slumber! The galaxy shall be ours once again!*

This makes me want a Total Warhammer 40k even more.
They have said that they intend to release more factions as DLC, though obviously that can't happen if the game ends up failing financially.
I know little to no 40k lore, so it would be cool to see a video about lore.
Looks interesting, waiting for some skirmishes with a bigger Imperial guard force.
This game looks pretty interesting. Not sure about the UI though. It's very much based on Civ but less pretty I guess or is that something Necron specific?
I wasn't sure about the game before, but you cleared my doubts! Necrons ftw! Really looking forward to play them in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2.
I do not know the Warhammer universe too well however this looks interesting and pretty fun to try.
If you've ever played Civilization you'll enjoy Gladius
This looks like a load of fun!
Enjoyable! Pls keep it up :)
Will do!
Finally.....a Warhammer 40k game !!!!!
what GPU are you using for this game? looks pretty good
Got me thinking about endless legend
Streaming this game would be nice!
I love W40k, one thin i hated about W40k is the strong focus on the humans.. right of the bat we got 2 human factions, i think they could have added another race like the Tau which is basically the only faction on W40k that is "good".
Agreed, unfortunately GW need their poster boys to be front and center in everything.
Seeing some Kroot Hounds in the intro to the Necrons, maybe T'au will come down the line?
Danarcis *kroot hounds
Merry Monk Yeah I corrected it :) I have been playing too much elite dangerous lately. It's going krait.
Danarcis lol
Yeah, they added Tau a while back now. Haven't really played as them yet.
You had an unclaimed item for the whole game in the top left of your screen.
Those can only be claimed by heroes!
Silent king exiled himself because he’s ashamed of what he did to his people
As much necrons as possible would be great
i am excited i love necrons
Game seems interesting, would love to watch you play. UA-cam only, because there is no 2x Speed for streams :P
Goblins are Grotz (a subservient race to the Orks)
Nurgle in WHF is Nurgle in 40K
Slaanesh is the Chaos God that never really showed up in WHF
Well you said you don't want to be spoiled on 8th edition but they really advanced the story...Just a couple highlights, that actually happened before 8th edition, include Roboute Guilliman coming back along with a couple Daemon Primarchs and a giant warp rift splitting the galaxy in half.
8th edition is absolutely amazing and basically kicked off a new golden age of table top 40k due to the rules being SOOO much better, I highly recommend checking it out.

Hi Party,
love your vids! regarding the law, i dont know much about it. when you did warhammer 2 you talked about all the factions in other vids - can you do that with these races/factions?
I am so fucking hype for this
WHY MUST YOU DRAIN ME OF MY MONEY, PARTY?! WHY?!
Now I have to buy it....
I'm sorry, I'm sorry! But there are so many good games out there ;-;
Nope, the fifth X should be for Xterminatus!!!
one of the x in 4x already stands for xterminate.
8th edition is more about chaos & Imperium, few things for the xenos. Necrons still awake and try to remake empires, they help sometimes Imperium against Chaos/Nids
No fancy new details or stories about them, though?
well, not from what I know, 8th edition is really focus on the great rift in the Imperium and the arrival of the primaris Marines
Yeah, focus is mostly on the results of the 13th black crusade, roboute guillimans return, and a burgeoning if strained alliance with eldar. Also, Primaris Marines, aka the Space Marines' Space Marines, alledgedly stronger than the adeptes custodes

Another great thing lacking is voices for the units.
But plz more ! ^^
Yeah I wish there was more voice acting in here, too! And you bet - there's much more on the way =)!
I really hope ^^ lot's of amazing things can be done, I wish they made titans ! (a little bit hard to balance and they would take mutliple hex unfortunately)
There's a mod that adds voices to the units
MOAR!!
Hero name: Sho-Khan
Hero Type: Warrior
Sho-Khan was going to be to be a great leader and guardian of his people, but instead his kind was tricked and left soulless.
Sho-Khan sounds like a Tau name
Or a White Scar
Perfectly honest PE, I would like you to livestream Europa with your buddies again, I want to learn that game and watching yall play helped me understand
Fun fact: I'm actually planning on doing that when the next DLC launches! =)
PartyElite svveet, cant wait to see it
Oooh, we will be streamed
Robert if you want, you can join Party's discord, we have a few people with 1000+ hours in EU4 who are happy to help.
ooh party plays EU4? nice! I've trained a few people to play that game - hands down the best way is to play a co-op mp game and have the veteran protect the newbie with like Castille/Portugal for example
Is that General Grievous narrating 3:26?
hey elite who do you think are worse, the c'tan or the chaos gods
Define worse:
Are the C'tan more poorly written/dumber? Yes
Are they a greater threat to the Galaxy within the context of the lore? Not really
I haven't played a 4x game since Imperium Galactica 2.
Does this game have a campaign mode ?
Is this anything like SOASE??
Moar I roar!
Keep the episodes come.
You bet!
I wonder if there will be a mobile version
Need more factions! Do u know if there is going to have more?
Yes. Currently they have Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, Chaos, Necrons, Tau, Tyranids and Necrons. I'm kind of surprised there's no Eldar/Dark Eldar yet, but I'm sure there will be eventually.
When you say "My models" have you shown use your models on any think like twitter, discord or any over form of media. can we see some?
I'll have to go looking for them - I haven't touched them in... jeez almost a decade it feels like.
Just like true Necron fashion.
More please
Renaming warriors? But what use is glory, for those who can't appreciate it?
++Clever quoting there friend++
Necrons over Spess Muhreen? By the Emprah, the heresy
Now now - I'm still a loyalist. Just to the Necrons, instead!
This Looks like a really really nice mod for Pandora First Contact by the same devs....lol not complaining though
but without the unit editor
There hasn't been any too new Necron lore for 8th edition. The basic premise that the Necrons rebelled against the C'tan and shattered them is still cannon. Yeah I think this is pre 8th edition, but Battlefeet Gothic Aramada I think will be the first 40K game set in the 8th?
Correct. As far as I am aware Armada 2 will be the first 40k game set in 8th edition.
Theytake an original take on undead in space and give them a cool lovecraftian lore and just make them the "Tomb Kings in space".
yes yes more yes
You bet!
this reminds me of sid meir
Rock some imperial guard
nice
When you install this game it fucks with your games folder, because the name is so long it stretches out the entire folder sideways xD xD xD
"Warhammer 40000 Gladius Relics of War Tyranids"
I mean fuck me! xD
Didn't normal necrons lose their free will when they became machines? I thought only priest and big nobles were sentiant
Please continue showing this on youtube. I'd even take a recorded stream
Ooooook, time to by some 40k civ:p
more plz!
You got it!
So Necrons are Robotic Tomb Kings, basically?
Soda Addict Yes in short
Spacegyptians, yes!
the ui looks like a placeholder
why can I never play as Tyranids? Q_Q
TreeFolkDruid hopefully they get added, if they were a core race I’d be already playing
How the fuck did Enslavers enslave Necrons?
Gimme more :)
4x1p the p is purge
Bring out the undying legions
keeping your warriors back out of fear from some guardsmen is kindof pathetic
Basically Warlock: MoA with a warhammer skin and a bit of CIV and Endless thrown in. Very very by-the-book 4X.
Bland is the my only impression and I LOVE the IP and 4X games.
Must say I prefer the old Necron lore before they retconned it : /
I prefer all old 40K over the new stuff.
We have so many warhammer 40k turn based games.. fed up of them. give us a good fps or another ‘space marine’ style of game
theres alot of those too....
I'm just glad to see so many WH games of any genre, to be honest. Hell, I'm even playing a WH Horus Heresy based card game on my phone lol.
PartyElite This game looks fun and is well made, and yeah more 40k stuff the better but I think we need more games other than the strategy type
Zarguz Hedwaka space Marine had good atmosphere and lore, sucked otherwise. Shame that they borked Deathwing, could've been the 40k fps we've been waiting for. An alien vs predator stype of fps would work well I think, but would take a skilled Dev team to make it work
TELL ME ITS NAME !
The inquisition shall analyze every comment in the comments section for signs of heresy!!
is this game an RTS?? or RPG??
Grand strategy or 4x game. eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate
so its like Civiliation VI but insted of historical civilizations its Warhammer civilizations?? am i right????
Isaac Alves Yeah, like Civ
Yep, like Civilization games except 40K. Important difference is that there's no diplomacy, though! There is only war!
NoohjXLVII *eZterminatus
Algorithm love!!
Party love!
I am enjoying the videos, but they are numbered out of order.
So is this basically the modern Warhammer 40k version of Warcraft/Starcraft?
Keep up the good work my friend.
no, 40k version of Civilization
Thanks! And actually, more like Civilization, minus the diplomacy!
