Mac Windy Montage (B Fighter Kabuto)

- In the 28th and 29th episodes of B Fighter Kabuto, one of my favorite Americans in tokusatsu/anime, exchange student Mac Windy, arrives to wreak havoc on the main hero of the show, Kouhei. Straight out of a xenophobic Japanese man's nightmare, Mac Windy (played by Reuben Langdon of Devil May Cry/Street Fighter fame!) somehow seamlessly replaces Kouhei in a pickup basketball game, dominates at sports, starts ordering Kouhei around, and charms every single woman in the show.
Oh, yeah, he's also the Dragonfly B Fighter.
I'm not sure if my favorite part is how Kouhei gets angrier as the clip progresses or how all of Reuben Langdon's lines have been dubbed over for some reason. Either way, it's a rare appearance of an American actor in a tokusatsu show, and it's notable for that alone. - Фільми й анімація
FEATURING DANTE FROM THE DEVIL MAY CRY SERIES
:)
🤣
It's good to know that Dante, Vergil and Nero were all a part of tokusatsu way before Devil May Cry came into existence.
Dante - Reuben Langdon as B-Fighter Yanma
Vergil - Dan Southworth as The Quantum Ranger
and Nero - Johnny Yong Bosch as MMPR Black, Zeo Green and Turbo Green
Even in the reboot vergil was voiced by a ranger
@Demon Prince Kiavala That's cool
I knew of Dan and Johnny in PR but damn didnt know Dantes VA was in B Fighter. Thats really cool. And the dragonfly beetleborg was my favorite lol
Devil May Cry is basically a toku franchise without our heroes always needing to transform into a stronger form in order to fight, we can all agree with that right?
hoping the next game has even more toku actors involved too
An accurate representation of an average day for Mr Langdon.
so american that they named him after 2 fast food restaurants
That last scene: Reuben pulled his Devil Trigger!
I actually *did* get around to asking Reuben Langdon why they dubbed over his voice at a convention: Toei wasn't expecting whatever American actor they hired to be able to speak passable Japanese, so they hired a native speaker to dub over the character. When they found out Reuben could speak Japanese fluently, it was too late, and they had already committed to using another actor to dub over his lines. Apparently he was only hired for that batch of episodes, as Reuben does his own lines later on in the show.
Also, according to Reuben, Mac Windy is a pun on American fast food. McDonald's (Maku) + Wendy's = Mac Windy. Apparently the "America is fat" stereotype existed even in our blond-haired, blue-eyed American trope embodiments. MURICA!
+therobd Hearing about what happened to Reuben Langdon reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film Hercules in New York where they got a American actor to dub over Arnold line
therobd and they complain about his stereotyping them lol
They dubbed over his lines in English, too
Damn, my man reuben did his own stunts and voice line himself
Also, of all the "foreign" B-Fighters, he's the only one played by a completely non-Japanese actor. Genji and Min were Japanese actors playing a Brazilian and Chinese, respectively, and Ageha's actress was still half Japanese
So then all three of them, Dante, Vergil, and Nero, their actors were ALL in toku shows???
...Man. Who knew having the blood of Sparda gave you access to the Morphin Grid. lol
I love how the Japanese dude just stops during the match and is speechless while Mac Windy makes him shake his hand
He's confused as to why there is a man charging right at them.
He’s been in Japan longer than I realize, doing Tokusatsu
1:52 "He's about to transform should I do something about it? Naaaahh! I'll let him transform because he's American."
Mac Windy, the only foreigner character in the show played by an actual foreigner
Yup.
but he was dubbed over to lip synced his japanese and engrish lines.
ruben wasn't good at japanese.
@@ninjasolarteamnoooo Reuben could speak it pretty fluently at the time
"STAAHP"
SHAASTES GHOOOD ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Yanma: This Party's getting crazy! Let's rock!
1:39 my sides were obliterated
I LOLed so hard! Reuben Langdon ftw! Loved him in B-Fighter Kabuto!
There's a reason why Dante's Devil Form has beetle Aesthetics.
Allow me to explain. Before 2009's Shinkenger, none of Toei's toku shows had proper on-location audio. So literally everything you see has been re-dubbed by the actors. It's quite annoying when you can't un-see it. It's most noticeable with older men and young children, as well as English speakers. Toei will direct English speakers to use Japanese pronunciation to make their words more understandable, and this can make it hard for someone to repeat their line with the same exact timing.
0:55 Dante eating pizza and strawberry ice cream be like
very nice ^^
マックたくさん回転寿司食べてるけど、昆なにたくさん喜んで食べて貰えるとお店の人達も嬉しいだろうな。
Since Mr. Kamen Rider return outside suit acting in Kamen Rider, i really wish Mr. Langdon return to Toei & plays an important role in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid once has a brief appearance of a new device (prefer handheld based since the Gamer Driver is based on console boxes) in Movie War 2017
Dante’s Empusa devil trigger
0:55~1:15 回転寿司で。
1:04~1:08 マックが食べた寿司の皿がこんなにたくさん!
1:14 甲平:バカ食ってんじゃね~よ!
Before he become A devil Hunter..
the reason why he was chosen is that he did some martial arts and the kamen rider 1 henshin
KOUHEI MAY TRY
Why don't Tokusatsu do this on occasion, like Reuben here and Leo from 555 Paradise Lost?
Well, in Leo's case, it wasn't intentional either. Peter Ho's Japanese was apparently so bad that he was told to just speak English instead, with the only Japanese word he'd ever say being the obvious one. Worked out for the better, I guess
Yeah! Mac Windy and B-Fighter Yanma ftw! Reuben Langdon rules!!! They should have incorporated more American actors into Tokusatsu!
B - Fighter from America that's good
0:38
Now I know why Dante was able to deliver that SSS kick of the ball to that statue's mouth in Devil May Cry 3
Dante shooting hoops sweet
今日やっとでたね!
また見れて嬉しい
ガンダムも好き
Captions are hilarious
1:59 "JACKPOT!!"
Mac Windy Speaks Japanese just like Peter Ho from Kamen Rider 555
well not really. maybe a little bit but that was not his real voice
someone dubbed over him to do some engrish lines and japanese speaking to lip synced
高校生ヒーロー(カブト)に対するは勇者高校生(の声)
Wait Reuben Langdon is B Fighter Yanma, I don't recognize him on his youth
Did anyone save the annotations from this video?
I've watched big bad beetle Borgs METALLIX to see this character but in this version I had no idea the star of the video game "devil may cry" was in the Japanese version but it really cool when he kicked butt as the dragon fly guy big up to mr Rubens
And thank you for bringing this up
#BEETLEBLAST
he started out as that regular white dud in an Asian Country.. then turned into Dante
I Absolute Love Reuben As B-Fighter Yanma But Johnny & Dan Are Played MMPR Black Ranger & Quantum Ranger With Both Footage From Super Sentai How About DMC Style
Hi! Did you know that Mac Windy is based off of David Perry, an American surfer based psychic from Mai the Psychic Girl?
@GenX6887 On a completely unrelated note, this was the last show in the long running Metal Hero tokusatsu series. :P
In all seriousness, though, as cool as that would be to us, what you're describing would probably get terrible ratings in Japan.
young dante from the 90s
Did they just dub over mac windys voice when he said stop?
Keeping it stylish huh?
Where do I watch the full episodes
@whybutyeah Yeah. I'm guessing they didn't think his Japanese was good enough, though I don't know the real reason for sure. I'm hoping to ask Reuben Langdon at a con someday.
I wish Dante could turn into yanma in DMC 4 it would have been more fun
Where i can find this series online?
Where can I watch this series? (With or without English subtitles is fine)
アメリカ版のこうへいの初登場の時やな!
Ⓜ️🍔🍟マックなのに寿司🍣食べてる
City mac, Country mac, Japanese mac
HI KOHAY
That's Ruben Langdon?
+Big Steve 300 yeah!
+Big Steve 300 from B-fighter to Devil may cry
that is him
but someone dubbed over him to do his japanese speaking lines and engrish lines to lip sync
ruben langdon did not speak actual japanese. he does speak a little bit
There's a American actor
Is this Kokoro's basket?
no its Devil May Cry 3.
Oh dante
so are you saying Mac Windy killed metal heroes
寿司の皿数すんご
like disco
no, it was the last two Metal hero series after b- fighter kabuto killed the series
it sounded like they dubbed his voice, did they?
yes it is
Is Reuben Langdon dubbed by Nobuyuki Hiyama?.
+Juan Villicaña Nope it's Koichi Tochika.
This actor appeared in Power Ranger: Forever Red using this exact same suit
Mac Windy is a play on McDonald's and Wendy's. It's just another subtle way of Japan making fun of fat Americans.
LOL metal heroes never die they were just in a coma so says gavan
Ayyy, it's toku's first fucboi lmao
@therobd I know B Fighters Kabuto was the last Metal Hero show. But you may be right about a Sentai show just like what I described getting low ratings in Japan. If this idea of show were be successful in Japan (though doubtful like you said), the theme of it would be about World Peace, and bringing the whole world together as one. It would be an idea campaign pushing to end xenophobia and racism in Japan!
जेपनी उसे कोन ७
Nah. Japan is just very pro japanese even in a storyline with many international people.
Hopefully New Actor Jason David Frank In Japan Super Sentai Series as New Extra Ranger I Want JDF Speak Japanese
i wish but sadly he is done with toku, i don't think he could do some japanese speaking. unless someone would dubbed over him. but he sadly quit from toku.
plus. he passed away in 2022. i'm sorry
r.i.p Jason frank
I love how even in live action Japanese shows they have to get a blonde guy to play as the American character lol. That's undertandable in Anime shows and Videogames but i don't see the point of that in live action shows......just sayin :)
😡 - 1:45
OMG, Un Gringo...!!
I'd love to see a white American guy as a Red ranger on a Super Sentai show leading 4 other Japanese heroes! An African American guy and a Mexican American girl could be the 6th and 7th heroes of that show. It would be a great way to pay homage to Power Rangers with that much diversity on the team. I hope Japan's not that racist?
