Denver airport’s clear line has its own dedicated TSA line. And let me tell you, it is not better. It takes longer to get thru the clear line than the normal line when it gets busy.

I remember when Clear launched a few years ago and I took a hard pass on that. My main question at the time was how they had some integration with TSA database on all persons that traveled. I couldn't work that out for the life of me. A couple years ago my wife and I flew into and out of DEN with some friends to go snowboarding/skiing. When departing DEN to return home they arrived at the airport about 30 or 40 minutes prior to us. We had the CSR at the time and I already registered our PreCheck from a year prior. The TSA line at DEN was *crazy long*. It was starting to wrap near these elevators and escalators like a bathroom line at a football game. Absolutely crazy. We started waiting in the back then I saw an agent and asked if this was the Precheck line. They said precheck was past the line and to the left. We waited maybe 10 or 15 minutes, tops (with I think 3 or 4 stations open). Since we didn't have status with non-united *A at the time, we just waited at the bench for like, nearly an hour before they got through. What's great is we literally walked past my friend and his wife to the precheck line and I stopped to tell them, "We have precheck so if we finish before you we'll just wait past the gates". 🎮The reasoning for the Clear ban is idiotic. It's like saying we should ban First class because they get to board first and is only available for those that can afford it. Duh, that's how premium products work. Same goes for food, housing and cars.

The politician who introduced the Bill for Clear was upset because people were cutting in line in front of him. He wants Clear to have their express lane and a dedicated TSA agent to work with CLEAR only. Sounds like it will cost more money and there are not enough people using CLEAR. A lot of times when I fly especially the late hours, CLEAR is not even open, so I have to use the regular TSA line anyway.
They’re completely different. Clear is essentially legalized petty corruption as you’re paying a private entity for better access to a government service. Disney fast pass is a company selling an enhanced version of its product for a higher price.

Tbh I use Clear at LAX and they have their own Clear screening at the United Terminal (Terminal 7). They don’t have enough Clear employees and many times the TSA Precheck line is faster. It is even worse at EWR during primetime. TSA Precheck is often faster. So this ban may be based on the SFO experience mainly which will doom it to fail.

Given that the federal government has a lot of control over US commercial airports, I doubt that California’s CLEAR regulation will hold up in court, for the same reason that states that preempted mask mandates couldn’t apply that preemption in airports (yes that mandate was struck down in court later on, but on different grounds).
Resy is useless to me. I don’t use Uber and my fav restaurant is now listed as Uber delivery and I only use pickup. Lame. I just downed my platinum to Gold for groceries and restaurants I want to eat in. I upgraded my Delta blue to platinum and I’ll see if it makes sense in a year.
It’s not necessarily interstate, the process of clearing security all happens within that terminal and passengers often are boarding the constant stream of flights between the Bay Area, LA, and SD. Unless you consider practically any activity as theoretically interstate, which has ramifications for all those state sovereignty arguments.

It's so tempting to get my Delta resev back as the new card, but I am going to stay film on my decision to cancel it. I am managing enough monthly credits. I can live with the coupon book for as you pointed out, it's easier to mitigate the af on the Delta cards now, but I need to cancel the gold and the Brilliance first.
Does Barclays allow for product changes? I had the uber card but that got changed over to a Barclays View which I get no value from and I have an Xbox so 5% back would be nice but not nice enough to get a new card

I think part of the issue in the California Bill is that when clear was started part of their pitch to airports was that they were about streamlining operations in reality. The vast majority of the value of clear comes from the line cutting feature. if the point of clear is for people to pay to cut in line the question is why not let them bear the full costs of running the line they’re cutting in makes sense to me

I don't travel enough to make the Delta Platinum or Reserve valuable to me. I carry the Delta Gold and Citi AA cards for the free checked bags and, in the case of the Delta Gold, the 15% point redemption boost. The limited edition cards are cool, though, and I like seeing what they come up with. As far as a CLEAR ban goes, the friction point is folks paying to visibly cut in front of others. CLEAR having its own line would help, but unless the program evolved to include TSA Precheck, there would have to be two fully equipped, fully TSA-staffed CLEAR lines - one for prechecked pax and one for those who didn't pay THAT fee. I hope they don't shut it down entirely, but if they do, I'll survive. GE/TSAPC is one of the benefits I'd pay for if I had to. CLEAR isn't.

Speaking as a gamer…. The Xbox card is a weird one. It’s specifically for the Xbox Store/Microsoft Store. That makes it hard and annoying to use for anything other than an Xbox, because while Microsoft does offer PC games, most PC gamers use Steam or Epic as their store for games. I think if they made it 5x back on Microsoft/Xbox, 3x on all other gaming, with 1.25 cpp on purchases on the Microsoft store, 1cpp as a statement credit on other gaming purchases they’d have made a must-have gamer card. As it is it’s not just niche from a general card use point of view, it’s niche from a gamer point of view. Xbox just isn’t that exciting.
They literally black listed me for no reason on sign up bonuses. So I got the Dela reserve 747 card coming even though no bonus after getting the black listed message. I'll probably cancel after receive the card just so I could get it and not have to pay anual fee.
Clear at LAX was awful, the employees were hella rude cuz they made everyone have to redo their scans last december and if you didn't follow their instructions to the T, then they were screaming at you. It was so chaotic for no reason and I wasted so much time having to wait to rescan when I could've gotten through precheck in less than 5 mins. It really makes me rethink renewing my green card since it is pretty much useless if you don't use up the clear credit. I think I only benefited from clear once where it actually saved me time. On another note, I REALLY want that delta reserve card, I just wish I could justify it. If I had any of the other delta cards then I'd probably jump on it but I don't want to miss out on the other SUBs by jumping straight to the reserve

Speaking as a gamer…. The Xbox card is a weird one. It’s specifically for the Xbox Store/Microsoft Store. That makes it hard and annoying to use for anything other than an Xbox, because while Microsoft does offer PC games, most PC gamers use Steam or Epic as their store for games.
I think if they made it 5x back on Microsoft/Xbox, 3x on all other gaming, with 1.25 cpp on purchases on the Microsoft store, 1cpp as a statement credit on other gaming purchases they’d have made a must-have gamer card.
As it is it’s not just niche from a general card use point of view, it’s niche from a gamer point of view. Xbox just isn’t that exciting.

They literally black listed me for no reason on sign up bonuses. So I got the Dela reserve 747 card coming even though no bonus after getting the black listed message. I'll probably cancel after receive the card just so I could get it and not have to pay anual fee.

Clear at LAX was awful, the employees were hella rude cuz they made everyone have to redo their scans last december and if you didn't follow their instructions to the T, then they were screaming at you. It was so chaotic for no reason and I wasted so much time having to wait to rescan when I could've gotten through precheck in less than 5 mins. It really makes me rethink renewing my green card since it is pretty much useless if you don't use up the clear credit. I think I only benefited from clear once where it actually saved me time.
On another note, I REALLY want that delta reserve card, I just wish I could justify it. If I had any of the other delta cards then I'd probably jump on it but I don't want to miss out on the other SUBs by jumping straight to the reserve
