would be nice to see you guys try a class xerion on this channel, i know its not normally your style but due to the cab being able to spin around that makes it perfect for this and normal tractor work

You can’t make good silage just stoving the whole trailer load up at once! The tractor looks like it’s doing a grand job! The boy driving it just needs a few more years under his belt 👍🏻😀

I reckon you should put a trailer on the L90/434 and see how that works.
They are one trick ponies, whereas the Fastrac has a multitude of uses.
If it's not flash on a buckrake i could live with that,as it is so good at everything else.
I love mine and would only swap it for a Fendt to be honest,if fendt could do 70k in NZ.

You don't need aheavier front linkage set the buckrake up properly tines pointing downwards tip trailers across pit face you can then push 18ton trailer loads up the pit in 3 runs quicker than any loader !

We harvest maize for a digester plant in Cambridge and all they use is 8000 series fastracs with blades on for the clamps also some xerions too, they harvest 20,000 acres of maize, with 4 teams with draws over 50miles from inside the m25 bk to Cambridge, also drawn with fastracs and some wagons!!!

I drove a 8410 with buck rake on the rear with only hand throttle, we had the linkage piped into the 1st hyd bank, way faster.
Had 21ft truck every 3 minutes I think was the fastest, I was keeping up with rolling no worries too.
Guys on stack have easy with JCB loaders.
Why don't you put a buck rake on loaders?
    Lower centre of gravity.
Would love to do it again one day.
Love the green grass every where, you having a gd season?
    Love vids guys.

Which do u prefer Garry the buck rake on the front or the back because we asked u at lamma what ur favourite job was and u said buckraking was one of them.but that might be a different story in the fastrac, but a very capable tractor at everything u have done with it 👌🏼

      @DiscoReaper 4 роки тому +1

always found the balance on the 5000 didn't lend itself as well to the pit work as a 188, back in those days, a 188 with weighted dual wheels was a beast...the torque and balance left it hard to beat

@@DiscoReaper we used to have the star type dualls on the 5000 duncan 1 sliding door cab it was a bitsa tractor the engine went porus so a cross block 6610 engine was fitted out of an x reg 6610 at a tractor breakers the cab on it was one of the most rotten ive ever seen a ford q cab . God knows where it has bn but it was knackered cosmetically . The engine however was a gd pulling unit it had obviously bn breathed on as it would outpull the farms 7610 no problem and we thought it to be a great pulling thing we did eventually fit a duncan super cab on to the 5000 and ran it about ten more years until it went away to export at cheffins it was relaced by a renault ares 100 hp 4 wheel drive it was a used tractor imported from holland with a low profile cab instead of the usual ares cab it had a small tunnel in the middle considering the low profile . I was a great tractor . With the john deere engine in it . Changed days now with no cattle around the area hardly is all arable nowadays its sad to think that back in the day near enough every fsrm in the area had cattle and usually sheep too . Gd stock men being hard to find plus low returns lots of reasons i suppose that farms stopped keeping livestock . . Hope u and family are all well a safe pls take care . Ps ur 188 on the pit woulda bn a great machine for tramping the pit as we all know the wuality of the silage is made on the pit . All the best to you and ur family .

As far said if it had 5 ton front linkage and a hydraulic top link would be better. Would be ok for a smaller clamp and loads not coming in so quick but let's face it she's not designed with clamp work in mind although I think it would work better with maize clamping just because of the way maize doesn't clump together like grass. Great tractor for everything else.
Are you in contact with the new owner for the future?
    Good luck to you all
