I'm super introverted and have no friends so self shoots are the best option for me. I've done two full photoshoots for my cosplays and a few one offs for other things and I highly reccomend using the apps that correspond with the brand of camera you have (I have a canon so I use the canon camera connect app) because you can use it to control the shutter and control different settings like aperture, shutter speed, iso and what not and you can look at the photos you've taken that are already on the camera which is so much better than on the little camera screen in my opinion. But yeah if you're introverted or shy in front of cameras highly recommend doing your own shoots if you're able 👍🏻 doesn't even matter if you dont have a DSLR cause I've gotten good shots on my phone before

You can turn that area into a little studio! I have friends who does that, they put something like curtain to the back and edit the photos how the way they want!
A lot of DSLR camera's also come with this super cool program you can use to take videos and photos while using your computer screen as a viewfinder!
Like I have a canon EOS T5 camera and I use the EOS Utility program the camera came with 8D
I definitely didn't think that bottle said 'Hiss', haha. Great video.

Nice video! Another way to take photos of your cosplay, is to put a camera on a tripod and set a timer and let the camera take multiple shots so you can still do different poses without having to walk to your camera all the time.

@@GraceWillow This way you can also create shots with you multiple times in it but you'll have to be experienced in using Photoshop :)

I've been watching the classic Addams Family and Twilight Zone this year for some classic horror. I almost did a Wednesday for my Halloween costume but changed my mind a week ago to Velma Dinkly.

Hey Zonbi... you can make some backgrounds from foam... like a rock wall... or brick wall... or like an outside rock wall... all you have to do is carve out around the rocks and paint the foam sheets... add some foliage between the "rocks" and you have an outdoor or castle theme or a dungeon...
such a great walk-through process and I noticed you didn't even have a proper backdrop holder and still worked so I def can save some money lol when taking cosplay pictures >...< I am honestly a very shy person when it comes to people taking my pictures so this helped!!

I love this!!! Any tips and tricks help. I am always so self concious about photos, so this is really nice. I will definitely have to try filming that way. I do have a couple questions:
What type of camera do you use?
Could we use a phone to record? Or would quality be too low?

Thank you! I use a Cannon 80D but anything works. Phone cameras nowdays are awesome! I haven't tried recording on my phone and doing this since I have a camera, but you could definitely try!
Thank you for the tipp with the recording and selecting screenshots afterwards. I'm not comfortable getting pictures taken of me in costume by others and always a bit unsure if I copied the poses of a charakter correctly. Maybe you could make a small video about the progress of learning how to pose like a certain charakter or what methodes you use to train it.
