I discovered something so so so real. The hardest thing we do as humans- asking for what we need. It’s that simple . Both sexes. We look at the other person hoping they will give us what we need, but in reality all you have to do is ask. That means with self and god. It’s the simple. Just ask for what you need
As a woman who grew up in a religious community I find this triggering. From a young age I was taught that men’s sexuality is my responsibility, how I walk, how I dressed( I was covered from head to toe), how I spoke and if I was attacked, which I was, it was my fault. It is hard enough for me to deal with my own sexuality let alone a whole other group of people. I don’t fault men for their sexuality it is a normal human response, but it is a feel. There are women in Africa who walk around with their breast hanging out and the men don’t lose control. I think the shame that are given to men around their sexual feelings are what causes this feeling of not being able to control themselves.
This was wonderful! Would love to have Alison back for another episode and get more of Kevin's input as a man walking thru scenarios with her. Great show! thank you.
Sure. The “appealing to him physically” is so dangerous. It’s too blanketed. I love Alison and a lot of what she says has changed my life - but we should always remember that this kind of thinking really depends on a man’s culture and how he was raised. You could just be wearing a short sleeve shirt and get attention you didn’t even want. “Close the door” - how? Women get assaulted and sexually harassed even when we are covered head to toe. I’m listening to Alison with an open mind but we mustn’t TRULY we really shouldn’t normalize this line of thinking, it’s too gray.
So so amazing!!
Great interview!
She has forever changed my relationship with men ❤
Thank you so much for having Alison on. I’m excited to hear about the King’s Code. I’ve been hoping for this sequel for years 😊
Got goosebumps listening to this
