- When you think of the quintessential Irish small town with quaint pubs and shops (and where it's just as common to see a tractor on the road as it is to see cars) you'll be thinking of Avoca. Located just outside of Dublin this pretty little town is a perfect example of the warm spirit of Ireland and hints of the simpler life of the past. The delightful TV series Ballykissangel was filmed here and the real town is even more beautiful than it appears on TV.
