Most of these 60's line dances were invented by teens going to record hops in Philly 1964-66, in particular those with Jerry Blavat as the DJ. The Wagner Walk, the Disco Spin, the Crossfire, The Chez Vous Walk. They were fun then and they are fun now. It's amazing how everything old is new again.
Christine Huscher I was just going to post a similar comment! Chez Vous & Crystal Ball Room! Growing up outside Philly was a gift. Who’d have thought our dances would persist ? Anyway brings back sweet innocent memories of fun from those days. I am still a dancin’ fool 😇
This dance was originally invented in about 1964 by the teenagers who went to the Chev Vous Ballroom at 69th street & Market in Upper Darby, Pa. After years gone by it reignited and is now known as the Marvin Gaye Walk..
The Chez Vous originally done back in 1964 . . .back in Philly. . . we didn't do twist, twist. . .we did. . . tap, tap . . . .we did this to the songs . . . You Can't Hurry Love (The Supremes), All I Need and Hold On
The God father of R.& B. SOUL line dancing-the late Dave Bush, renamed The Chez Vous Walk named for the CHEZ VOUS roller rink in Upper Darby where I used to dance. We started doing this dance in 1965. Yes, you have all the songs I think we danced The Chez Vous Walk to. Do I know you? Do you still attend the Jerry Blavat dances currently, or those the late Billy from Philly did in NJ and Delaware Valley? Nick Roby
I COULD ONLY DO THE BRISTOL STOMP I USE TO SEE THESE DANCES AROUND PHILLY IN THE 60'S BEFORE BEING DRAFTED I WENT TO VIETNAM JERRY BLAVAT I REMEMBER HOW I LOVED THE SOUND THE DELLS, MARVIN GAYE, OYLIMPICS, TEMPTATIONS , FRANKIE BEVERLY ,SMOKEY ROBINSON THIS STARTED THE NORTHERN SOUL SCENE IN ENGLAND THE MOTOWN SCENE FADED TO MAKE WAY FOR THE DISCO SCENE
Awesome. I love the way your group dances. Do you have a tutorial on that little kick and crossover move? Keep making videos - it looks like you're having lots of fun!
How many dance steps is this dance actually? It goes so fast I cant get the correct count and cant find this version of the dance anywhere else. I love it.
I still love Marvin Gaye and like this line dance so much, that I'll also teach it in my classes. Nice, smooth moves. I'm enjoying your line dances.

I just love seeing people, naturallysmiling and singing as they're dancing.
It's just so obvious, they're having a great time.
The biggest high ever, and good for your soul.
