Yeah thats the point. You should use a bigger wing >1500cm2 and a Fuselage longer than 70cm. With other equipment it is so much more fun in the beginning.🤙🏽
@@WindsurfingNils flat water is also important first times,...you have to go a little downwind and wait the board rise itself slowly(with the right foil),to understand the right foot pressure and let your body learn the "new toy" balance.Don'tbe hurry, and don't push the board, the first times.Sometimes put the foil all in the back position of the track can help.
Hi Nils Another fun video, would you be able to guide me what size windsurf sails to use in what wind strengths (knts), a rough starter guide for freeride will help me Thanks in advance Thanks in advance
That shore break was quite intense to get out. You actually did better that I'd expect especially on such a small foil and small wing. Typical windsurfer's problem - leaning back when getting up on the foil when you really need to do the opposite - shift your weight forward and let the wing to pull you. But good effort
@@WindsurfingNils I agree with @Den Go Surf . I noticed your weight was more back foot oriented once you got on foil. You would need to get more front foot pressure to control your altitude and get flying level. If you put too much weight on the back foot the foil just keeps going up until it breaches and you crash. Hopefully you gave it a few more tries and you have it figured out now. Thanks for the video.
If you wanne learn winging just let me know if you ever head out to the Netherlands and I’ll help you out with the basic’s on a friendly lake iso on a gusty and wavy sea….. (I’m a F4 rider as well both windfoil as winging)
I thought that since I'm familiar with wind foiling I should be able to jump right on a wing foil kit and go. That was not the case. It turned out to be more different and challenging than I thought and I ended up way downwind. I will try again. I see lots of other people doing it and it does look like fun!
I hated the very beginning of wing foiling as I got frustrated because I’m a good windfoiler. Not long after I was winging all over the place and got hooked. Get a foil that’s more forgiving and you’ll get hooked too!
Hey, thanks for the comment, yes I will try it again with a more beginner friendly setup, I think the F4 1400 or 1700 should be ideal for starting out combined with a little longer fuse...
Yes i thought i would never quit windsurfing, but after trying wingfoiling it is hard to step "back" to windsurfing. I could not believe it before, but winging is so much fun. I already sold my lightwind windsurfboard.
@@martinomovies In higher winds with Windfoil it’s possible to use wave sails, which work well to be set neutral once catching a wave. Of course there’s still a little mast foot pressure left. Not sure if it’s the intended purpose of Windfoil but I enjoyed it this way anyways last summer.
I'm not sure many first winging sessions go to plan! Nice to see a real world experience. Look forward to hearing how you progress!
Awesome footage, Fernando looked like some Wing God flying between those waves 😀😉
live it looked even crazier ;)

Awesome 🤙 to see a pro on a wingding 🥳

hey Anthony, I could give you some rough advice if I knew your weight ;)
@@WindsurfingNils hi Nils thanks for getting back to me, I am 75 kg
you did very well for the first time, even though you have tons of other experience.
Great video! What ist the name of the second spot. Looks great.

thanks Den, I think with a couple of sessions on a bigger FW it should be quite easy to learn :)

Yes I also thought I would already be flying around on my first go ;) maybe on the second...

Next video “I sell all my windsurfing gear”
the one after that: "I start kitesurfing" :D
@@WindsurfingNils haha
That was me after first month of winging 🤣

Video quality going upppp!
had a nice camera for the day ;)
Wing foil looks cool, but if you already have Windfoil gear it’s redundant, unless someone has a lot of sessions per year.
yes, that's my problem also, I am already traveling with 8 boards in the car, I don't have space for a wing setup on top of that...
wing foiling has more freedom for surfing. check out "JD Follow Cam" on UA-cam where people are just using the wings to get out in the swell.
