  • Hello, friends! I was lucky enough to get a little vice that I have long wanted for myself. They were in a deplorable state. But I liked this vice externally and it was just a pity to throw it away. I decided to apply my skills to restore the old rusty vice. I post a video of my work on my channel. I hope you enjoy it and maybe some of you will find useful in this video. I am not a video production professional. I am still learning this. Please do not judge strictly. If someone doesn't like the music, but the process will be interesting, just turn down the sound!
Thank you for visiting my channel! There are many other videos on it. Subscribe, leave comments, share my videos)))
This will help in the development of the channel and, perhaps, will give me the opportunity to purchase the turning and milling machines that I dream of, to update my tool.
Once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Admit it, for the first 45 seconds you thought the vice was 5 times the size it actually is! 😂😂😂

Looks good I think a hammered paint would have covered a lot of the imperfections in the metal !! 👍

Nice. I thought there was a spring in the screw that cushions the unwinding? Many other vices have one. Just curious.
    Nice job.

Hello! Thank you for rating. There are no springs, just a push washer.

Well worth a subscription. That was very well done.
Very clean and methodical work. Glad I came across your channel.
If I may ask, what wire was wrapped around your electrode when you were welding the vice body? What was it’s purpose? I’ve never seen that before. 👍🇦🇺

Welcome aboard!))) Hello! A copper wire was wound around the electrode. The body of the vise is cast from cast iron. During and after welding, the welding seam is brittle and can crack from the concentration of stress. Copper wire allows you to make the welding seam softer and eliminates the problem with cracks. It is advisable to take a copper wire no thicker than 1 millimeter. I took a thicker one, I just didn't have another one at hand. It is necessary to wrap it tightly on the electrode coating.
