2: when turning ignition on pull the left stalk towards you and push it down-- drl off
3: when turning ignition on pull the left stalk towards you and push it up.

I have VW Golf Mk6 2009 and this worked:
Pull down and back before turning the ignition on,
1. Pull stalk back
2. Pull down
3. Turn ignition on
3. Hear either 2 or 4 beeps
4. Turn ignition off
5. Let go of stalk
It worked on my 2010 VW Jetta S, doing it the way described by :D--the person who commented: "Some cars you need to pull down......" Disabling my DRLs was particularly important for me because I just spent $46 for 2 bulbs which state in small print on the package that they have a life expectancy of only 85 hours. (Discovered only after I had installed the new bulbs). This is amazing because the original equipment bulbs lasted over 10 years and 90,000 miles. With the DRLs effectively burning the bulbs even during daytime driving it wouldn't be long before my new bulbs needed to be replaced again. This UA-cam video will save me a bundle over the next several years. Thanks to xVolt and :D!
Man you're amazing, I just wonder how did you know this way to turn it off 😅
I did this today 11/17/17 on my 2010 VW SE Jetta and it worked just like this post. Thanks xVoit!
too easy and helpful, thank you
It works you're the man basically you have to follow exactly how he does it when he does it the beeps the Chimes when you first put the key in you hear one beep two beeps let go and you'll see the lights turn off so basically you put the key in ignition and we put it in the auxiliary position as soon as you do that you know how it starts chiming okay as soon as you put the key in start turn the lever to the left turn signal and immediately pull up and hold until you hear the 2 Chimes and let go it worked for me the first time
Worked on my mk6 2010 golf. thank you
Thanks very simple no extra talking to hear yourself talk!
St8 to the point!
And this worked on my 08 Rabbit
Again thanks!
Ok update it didn't work but I still appreciate the vid
Some cars you need to pull down and back before turning the ignition on,
1. Pull stalk back
2. Pull down
3. Turn ignition on
3. Hear either 2 or 4 beeps
4. Turn ignition off
5. Let go of stalk
This won’t work on cars 2012 or after only cars before 2012
That does not work on a US MK5 Jetta. You need to use VAGCOM, period.
Is there a way to do it for a 2006 Jetta? Other than the dumb computer hook up
Doesn't work on my golf7 2016.
Damn finnaly
What about polo 2013 6r 1.6 tdi? Same settings?
I tryed it with ibiza.. Didnt work?
Does it work on a 2009 mk6 with halogen headlights? Row based mk6
Still thumbs up, but didn't work for my U.S. MK5, 2008, Jetta SE, Euroswitch (with no Auto option) dial.
Worked on my 2009 golf not my 2015 scirocco though :(
works on a 2010 VW Golf
thanks you very much
Doesn't work on my '08 Passat 2.0 LUX trim. Ugh, I will retry in a few minutes.
Did not work on 2009 Tiguan
Doesn't work on 2010 Passat CC
Did not work for 2008.
did not work on jetta 2012 .
thanks anyway
I have a 2011 jetta and it doesn’t work either
@@maurodimaio4083 idk if you figured it out already it’s two years later but i did it just now by taking the light switch/euro switch out and bending the the “TFL” switch back, in order to stop the connection. No code came up and everything else still works 100% normal. I have a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 SE, united states version.
I have an 05.5 jetta 2.5L.
I have tried everything. Cant bend the pin in the headlight switch coz i dont have the same plug. Mine is smaller.
I dont have a 173 relay so cant pull that.
And this trick does not at all.
Getting so annoyed having a unique car when tryna do research on it
Does not work for my 2012 Tiguan.
I would like a video that shows me how to turn them off. I can't afford to keep replacing car batteries because of day running lights running down the battery.
Vannette Terrell won't run down your battery at all coz the only work with the engine running
doesn work on jetta 06
Doesn’t work on 2013 Golf TDi
Does not work on 2001 beetle
