Okinawa is so subdued compared to Tokyo. Reminds me of some smaller cities in Northern New Jersey. That shopping arcade was immense. Thank you for this walk.

I'm glad you went to Okinawa. I was going to go there in July, but couldn't because of the typhoon. The scenery is so beautiful and wonderful.
If you are still there I recommend the bamboo cafe one of the best Jamaican restaurants I have ever been too besides Jamaica it self.

Okinawa is of course where the American military bases are BUT it also has some spectacular beaches and coastal regions. 👀👍There are mixed sentiments re the American bases being there not helped by the rape of a school girl by three USA servicemen. (Sept 1995) 😶The noise from aircraft flying over populated areas and the history of some crashing 😶is another reason for some hostility from locals etc. 👀 Stay safe whoever wherever you are 👍
