I love this And one of the reasons I do is because it almost immediately had me thinking of half steps in terms of the way I hear them and sing them in an entirely new way.
For years as a vocalist the halfstep interval has given me the most trouble. I begin to understand this once I also understood that the harmonic overtone series but half step is actually quite a far distance away whereas we think of a half step as a closest distance one can go in the harmonic overtone series it’s not. For some reason this was the first time I just stopped thinking about this and just sung it as half steps it was really fun I think this also has something to do with the fact that it was in the middle register of my voice so it was in was considered to be the Tesora tour of my voice and most instrumentalists in my experience would not have played in exercise like this in that place so thank you I loved it because I’ll get to practices and there were plenty of mistakes that I need to correct in my own imitation of it. I love Singing jazz so this will be very useful

Pro tip. Learn one of Rick's licks and when you are playing just pull one out randomly and the people will be suprised. Then go back to simple pentatonic Xd.

Lord Beato, have you any step-by-step masterclass that a small fry could use to become even half as skillful as yourself? I could literally listen to your mini tutorials as music and would be better than half of the music I listen to. And I was a band geek too, so you know I listen to orchestral/choir/some acapella/ as well as your usual radio music

I listened a lot to Chopin and started to play piano because of an injury i had in my neck and back.. also because I was so inspired by his music... When I went back to the guitar two years after the injury had healed and my musical style changed forever... Chromatics can be so unbelievably beautiful...

Quick lesson: when playing the blues scale just add the M9th
    1 2 b3 4 b5 bb6 b7
    The mustaine scale
    Aeolian b5 bb6
6th mode of melodic minor #5
(Or one of those) like that
    Great lesson Rick!
    Never stop man

  • Alex
    Alex 28 днів тому +3

Quick suggestion, i think putting in chords that you can very clearly hear as a backing track while showing a scale is much better, and that weird effect you put on your guitar makes it really hard to understand what youre explaining fully in a musical context
