I really like how this episode shows the effects of time travelling in Animal Crossing from the villagers' perspective. I mean, how scary and confusing would it be to have the world suddenly fast-forward and reshape beyond your control? It's only natural that the villagers have had enough of Maskile's antics. I especially feel sorry for Raymond who had his house stuck in a hole!
This is why I don’t do that at 4 am when Im moving stuff around. Always have to remind myself they are AI and not real people 😂
I always thought that life kinda continued normally for villagers (if you tt a month forward they’re gonna ask where’ve you been all this time) but actually like… the animation’s idea makes more sense since we’re in the same timeline with the villagers. I know they’re just pieces of code but duuude im so attached to them im never gonna time travel 🥺😹

Somehow, this is both the creepiest and most wholesome one, at the same time. Time warping is surreal, but he was actually being friendly at times, seemed to be having fun, was doing things for other people (except Raymond), and the island ended up looking really nice!
But for the people loving there, the process was absolutely terrifying at first.
He made the island look good cause he needs a 5 star island so he could make the garbage hat

omg, I feel like this really captures the absolute *chaos* the villagers must be experiencing when we (the players) move things around and terraform, especially when couple it with time travelling to get it done faster

These shorts really have a way of making Animal Crossing seem like a cruel hellscape for the villagers lmao.
The Mask guy being absent from the group photo is probably the moment that cements the fact that he's an eldritch entity to the island residents. I know it's probably because he time travelled again at that exact moment, but I like to think that he actually cannot be captured on pictures because of how utterly ELDRITCH of a being he is.
I know it's been months since you made the comment, but I wanted to point out Mask is actually in the photo. He's shoving his way past everyone on the right side.

The Masked Villager is the most mysterious and scary yet interesting antagonist of the _Animal Crossing_ short series. He can control the entire village and messes everyone around that not even Resetti can deal with him anymore.
resetti isnt even a character in nh. The only part he plays is a visitor in the Roost.

Sometimes I feel like my island is too simple, especially when I compare it to the spectacular ones I've seen from more seasoned players. But this has soundly convinced me that a nice quiet island and a relaxing environment is the way to go.

I only put my multiple (I have 6 avatars) players’ avatars houses on the beach because: I don’t know how to decorate the beach & haven’t decided where to put the houses.
Plus, the houses showcase various stores, recreational centers & museums. Visitors can pick up various free recipes & objects related to the stores for free. 😺
Yeah, I put all the houses on the beach when I started my island. So that I could terraform without them getting in the way.
But I did mark with textures on the ground where each house would be eventually placed, tho.

I loved this one! Originally my favorite had to be "The Collector" but noone can beat Tommy and Timmy resenting us with the cross (5:14) lmao
I know Wisp said that the island designer “doesn’t care about anything” and that’s what makes him so scary but this episode proves that he has a vision ! and he put more care and time into his island than most people I know who play ! I have hope he’s just misunderstood 😂❤️
He finished it all. Looked at his creation. And shrugged.
Sure he has a vision and put a lot of care into it.
But at the end of the day, he treats his villagers like shit.
He literally burned down Pietro's house because he didn't heed the player's warning to not put on his show.
My good mate, all the villagers hate him, Isabelle and Tom sound depressed cos of him and has tried to escape, it seems that he treats Raymond like a personal servant and has the cat's house stuck in a hole, and he burned Pietro's house. I think he does have a vision, but the vision is just for all of his own enjoyment and doesn't really think about what the others would think.
-But that's just a theory. A gAme TheOrY-
Nintendo stopped recording my play time after 1365 hours. (Switch was stolen). I hope he os just mosunderstood...lol

I think I noticed that when Mask entered resident service at the beginning of the episode, the bell didn't ring like it did when the villagers were walking into on Town Meeting.
Also, I feel kinda bad for Raymond, having his house collapsed on the cliff. I still think that he regrets moving away from Susie's island.
And despite how nice the island turned out, Mask was still causing destruction & I wouldn't blame the villagers wanting to evict him...which begs the question, would eviting him cause a reset on the whole game?
Looking forward to the next episode to see what happens?

To be honest, I think that Mask is propably starting to get bored after completing everything and will propably then stop visiting his island.
I saw this episode first, without knowing there were others, and it just seemed mostly cute, like, Mask is obviously causing a bit of chaos and confusion, but not maliciously.
He was emoting and all (that cheery wave to Nook lol). So I took Nook being uncomfortable and the villagers wanting to evict Mask as reactions to just the time travel, and it did make sense to me, since what was happening was definitely weird from their perspective.
But after seeing all other episodes, and re-watching this one, damn, Mask's emoting is actually creepy now >.<
Why's he so cheery all of a sudden? My best guess is that he's a player who doesn't have a 'connection' to the AC world like most players have (as in, cares about villagers/the island, plays the game to relax and have fun), and is more of a power player?
But at the same time, he was doing pretty nice stuff for (almost) everyone this time... Or tried to at least, tbh I can relate to starting a big terraforming project only to abandon it halfway through lol
Either way, excited for next episode!

Same here!! I was cracking up when I saw T&T with the cross, and it makes so much more sense now after going through and watching all of the other episodes.
My husband is a power-player, and it is WEIRD to watch someone play the game the way he does. His entire island is completely flat and undecorated, his villagers are thrown around haphazardly, he's been dressed like a Jedi since the game came out and hasn't ever changed it, he has his money tree schedule memorized to maximize profit, all of his fruit trees are organized in neat rows that take up a solid eighth of the island, etc.
Mask guy just became kinda sweet all the sudden. Kinda prefer this version of him over the other

In Reset part 2, Isabelle said deep down there is something good inside of him and I can see where she came from. He is actually resourceful, can put time and care into things if he wants to. I mean, the moving process is really tedious but he went through it all. He actually try to make it looks nice, making a sonic shape flower garden? For island 5 star rating you don't have to make it look nice, it's just all about the quantity of stuffs you put out, he can just scatter furniture and flowers around if he wanna be careless about it.
And so much for calling him ''Evil", I mean, he's playing a game like how any other people play, tormenting villagers for a laugh, time travelling, skip dialogue, giving a fav villager a nice place and the opposite for the ones he doesn't like. What I'm trying to say is he's not evil, he's just playing a game. But it's an issue because in this series, all the NPCs are actually sentient and he doesn't know that. He's just someone who got the game and sit down to play it, doing whatever he think is fun.
Though, after Reset part 2 I'm curious to know where his stand is after knowing that it's not 'just a game' anymore. Has he learned a lesson or will he come down even harder on the Nook and Co. THAT is when we can really say if he's evil or not, I think
i know i've commented before, but one comment isn't enough.
i keep coming back to this. the pacing, the cinematography, the lighting, the original soundtrack, the way the plot uses the animal crossing mechanics to its advantage, and shows what it's like from the point of view of the villagers... this is genuinely one of the best series of blender short films i've seen; i feel like nintendo couldn't make something this good. maybe their version would look even prettier, but the writing in this feels incredibly more genuine and authentic than what a studio and executives would dare to do.
i cannot express how incredibly good this is, and how skilled you (and other people working on this with you) are. this is part of the rare exemples of extremely high-quality content on a youtube landscape that's oversaturated with garbage. please take your time with the next episodes, in the meantime i'm going to share your channel with as many friends as possible.

I gotta say Pietro is starting to be my favorite character in your series. I love his IDGF attitude, and especially what he does at 4:53 was funny as hell. Bravo!
Pietro is my favorite Animal Crossing character since a couple months 😂 He’s a clown like me (I’m born April first), I like sheep because they’re so cute and fluffy and he has so much different colours, I love that! Ione and Audie are also my favorite characters, on second and third place!

Gotta say, this makes me feel good about how I make changes to my island slowly and don't time travel to speed them up. I think you need a little time to get a feel for the changes you make. That's what works best for me, at least!
I was so happy when the new episode suddenly showed up on my feed. Didn't expect that at all, thank you so much Densle for all the work you put in 😊 And of course, we love an angry mob of virtual cute animals in a wholesome game, I'm very curious whether they can evict mask boi. WOW that was amazing! Time travelling is something I do without much thought now, but the way you interpreted this concept made it so fun to watch. I really loved the dialogue, the pacing, the sounds used, and the scene where Tom Nook goes out and sees everything flying in the sky! You're so creative in your storytelling!! The tiny details from the game and comedy bits were fantastic! 'Terrorformed' is also such a terrific song :D
I'm gonna miss another premiere, I am volunteering right now. But when I get home this is the FIRST thing I am watching :D

This was absolutely amazing. As a time traveling designer, I laughed the entire time through. I just love all the different perspectives you do in these videos! I never thought about it from the villagers’ perspective, but this perfectly sums up the utter chaos that goes on and what they’d see. 😂 I just cracked up at all the little funny details like Timmy and Tommy hiding behind the counter with a cross, Dotty being woken up at 3AM to move her house (relatable) Raymond’s house being left in the dirt to show you’re trying to ignore him to sell him (later falling off the cliff 🤣) and Filbert’s reaction to seeing his house fly off when before oblivious to what was going on. Also Dotty’s shade at MC is hilarious. Many more things though. Loved the entire thing and might be my favorite so far you’ve made! These videos are always worth it, thank you for making these for us!!

Great job at making the masked character so mysterious, despite us basically knowing what he is doing since we play the game, the way you portray him makes him feel like some supernatural construct, though its hard to distinguish if he was made in heaven or hell ;)

This is so beautiful, genuinely blows my mind that you’re able to do this. The scene where the character is overlooking the finished or current progress of the island with the bridges and waterway… I’ve not seen something so masterfully animated in years.

The modeling work and animation is top notch!! I can't imagine how long it took to create the scene with the pan of the town
The character models have also improved to be more accurate to the in-game designs.
I just keep coming back to this one. The idea of seeing what our gameplay is like from the inside perspective is just amazing. And every time I see a flying house I laugh. And everything just looks so spot on, from villagers to backgrounds and buildings. It really looks like a high res Animal Crossing with more dynamic angles. Everyone seems to bug Densle for a part two but I am happy to watch this and patiently wait for whatever they put out next whenever they have it ready.

These really just keep getting better! I think this one my favorite, although I absolutely LOVE the rest so it’s kind of tough to pick a favorite! It’s so relatable though; from moving everyone to the beach, calling them at random hours of the night to move, to the one random villager whose house is either caged in or yard is messed up because you don’t like them lol. Ahh I love this! You truly capture the essence of this game and it’s gameplay with somewhat of a dark sense of humor, but in a way that is true to the player experience. I’m still hoping that Nintendo or a big animation studio finds you and helps you take your story telling to the next level because you deserve it! I know it’ll happen, & I can’t wait! 😊✨

I’m trying the best I can to make my island nice and I find so cute when the villagers help out. I don’t have an ordinance on, but they water the flowers and clean the plaza.. (or tell stories to the moss and the turtle). I find it very sweet.

I think like this is really a reminder for us that animal crossing is a game that takes development and time, like that’s the way you get attached and love your town no matter what. After all the experience is supposed to be like what moving to a new place is like.

There’s no doubt about that. The island legitimately looked fantastic. I was expecting something chaotic and ridiculous the player made just for LOLs, but he actually put effort into making something great. I think the only bad part was when everything was moving around and the villagers had no control over what was changing.
