Marc Jacobs might not be at the top of the pyramid with the brands related to luxury but it is indeed luxurious. Marc is a visionary and what he's brought to this world will live forever in fashion history
Marc is an icon. LV would be nothing today if not for him. Solid design, decent pricing, excellent quality. Far better than most of the 'luxury' world.
working in luxury retail, it’s considered luxury but a contemporary luxury, due to its more affordable pricing, it’s on trend, and most importantly it’s accessible and attainable.
Another thing about him is he appeals to an indie Crowd and aesthetic. Especially the way he used to look. There was a time where he was a household name amongst luxury Titans. He was the Designer at times as well.
The Tote Bag is affordable and definitely worth it as an iconic piece that you don't need to be precious with. Also if they're still available, his Boyfriend, white cotton shirts.
@@lolab6770nevertheless, subjective. One would give bridesmaids the higher end Daisy items in the big tote as a wedding weekend thank you gift, but if the groom, to me as his bride, gave me a Daisy candle as a wedding gift, hold the phone. Hopefully you can get yourself tangled out of that hot mess before consummation.
When I was young I would go to the better department stores. They would keep the designer bag in glass cases. Marc Jacobs was my favorite. Latter in life when I could do more than look his beautiful luxury bags were gone. One of those beauties is in The Devil Wears Prada movie. The tote now isn’t like the old days.
it may not be at the pyramid of luxury brands like hermes, prada, chanel, etc but it is an affordable luxury brand that is also durable to the max my tote bag has been used like no tomorrow and i’m surprised at how it still looks new. I just purchased the pink crescent bag, i love his style and designs
Marc is an icon! The KiKi boots are a wishlist item for my closet with collector pieces for when i do styling & styling for photoshoots Also when he did the LV logo on denim? What he did for LV working with other artists was groundbreaking back then & opend the door for the fashion of today ✌🏻🌺
Yes. It's accessible luxury. To people just following trends or knowing what's popular, it is. I also feel the brand competes with higher end in terms of creativity and luxe factor. It's just a young brand.
I think his resume gives him a status in the fashion industry that shouldn't be pushed aside. The industry is starting shift and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Extreme luxury and expense often become unpopular when the economy is in a bad spot. The designers and brands need to be able to read their customers and potential customers to determine what is the best direction. Some of the factors that I think will play a role in success for some brands will be the economy, environmental awareness, and value of the product(am I really getting something worth $$$$) He is versatile and has was fired for going out of the box...let's see what he has up his sleeves👍
I love Marc Jacobs.❤ Have some of his bags and love them. Also LV wouldn't be what it is today without his vision. Also love that his bags, like Coach, don't break my budget haha
At least the pieces I own feel luxurious. They still look amazing after years of use, the leather feels soft. My favorite is definitely the Lil Ukita bag.
@@bLAH829 It's 70s slang for "awesome." I believe it was made popular from the show Good Times, but as that was "before my time," I can't be 100% sure.
Marc Jacobs definently was a luxury brand even in 2009-2010 era they had upscale stores in New York that had high a low pieces like the “jacobs line” selling next to $1000 sweaters. I know though I think they’re bringing back their Stam Bag this year
Marc jacobs is a designer brand!!! I'm so glad he opened that new brand. Luxury ready to wear without the ridiculous price tag. Fyi, lvmh did not knock. His fairy godmother, Anna Wintour, was trying to influence Bernard Renault by hiring American designers for his brands where narciso designed for loewe, Marc for louis, Michael kors for celine. His first collection for louis did not have good reviews in france but of course, Anna and her posse would create a buzz as if his first collection was a success. The grunge collection tells you what hia beliefs are in design.
Knowing him makes me feel very happy because being in his atmosphere makes him Luxury to me I miss his store on Bleeker street in the west village it was great for gifts etc My only hope is that he’s happy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Marc Jacobs, Kenneth Cole, and Steve Madden--- the pieces are attainable and worth getting for their fresh fashion forward flair, and these allow me to update my look and still be myself. Fashion used to be about people living their lives and others vying to cop their style. Now they are walking portfolios and billboards.
I have the J shoulder bag and I can't tell you how much I love it. The quality of the leather and the attention to detail is impeccable. It's so classy but trendy with its neutral colour's. Don't know why people don't buy more of his handbags
Marc is a cute icon, a living legend( see what he did for the LV brand).Marc Jacobs is luxury, just affordable luxury and that’s why we love him. His brand is currently on the same tier as Coach.
I think it is important to mention the runway show where he had models walking with dreadlocks. However, there were no Black model hired for the show. Many called him out for Cultural Appropriation. That had an impact on how many saw him and his brand.
Marc Jacobs is my absolute favourite perfume, Daisy, totally no,1, however I was gifted a cross over bag 6 years ago and use it every day...love it ❤❤❤❤
Luxury is for me great looking pieces, great craftsmanship and what buyers think when they own it. The prices are good but not overpriced like bottega. The totes are the best thing ever!
I love Marc always have his elevated pieces are a feat technically he puts himself out there with no shame and he’s done it the hard way work work work and probably knows his history of fashion and not just clothes but print , furniture , fabrics , social norms more than anyone else besides Galliano and Karl he doesn’t care if he’s LUXURY because he breathes it
Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade are sort of lower end luxury. Though, I consider them sort of the work horses of the luxury world. They're the pieces you pull from for every day wear.
Man those totes i have three and people go crazy over them . I get alot of compliments, the black canvas tote is def everyone's fav. Now I will say the only problem is of u use any type of whitening products or tint products you will stain your bag or accidentally bleach it a little. But they are very sturdy and fit everything and come in so many sizes and colors
Luxury to me is based on quality and innovation, not price or brand marketing success. Marc Jacob’s knows this, but I think his products are accessible and marketed well to have a range that sells due to branding, trend watch and price positioning, not quality or innovation.
Went to a mark Jacob in NY with my wife. We bought a new bag but the chain will not close. Went back to the store, returned it, walked to a coach store and bought a similar bag, satisfied 😊
Aaahhh it’s expensive then micheal koras so yeah it’s luxury.. In India the tote bag medium cost around 25k around and large size 50k which is totally expensive then gucci and MK
There's a leather channel on here that gives his opinion of the quality of leather goods. He rates all levels of cost and popularity. I love watching him because I've always been more attracted to what's well made vs. what's more popular. If I visit France I may get a luxury bag but only if he's given his approval on the quality despite the cost.
Marc Jacobs might not be at the top of the pyramid with the brands related to luxury but it is indeed luxurious. Marc is a visionary and what he's brought to this world will live forever in fashion history
I think his fashion was more successful. The handbags are boring and almost all the same design.
🙄
Marc is an icon. LV would be nothing today if not for him. Solid design, decent pricing, excellent quality. Far better than most of the 'luxury' world.
It's an affordable luxury brand. It's not Chanel or Prada but it's not Guess either.
Yessss true!!!
Maybe Michael Kors?
He uses quality materials, too. The leathers are always nice, design is fresh and craftsmanship is sound.
Gucci is shit
The quality of his stuff is really good whether you consider it luxury or not.
Exactly. I’ll take high-quality over status symbols any day.
Yes.
working in luxury retail, it’s considered luxury but a contemporary luxury, due to its more affordable pricing, it’s on trend, and most importantly it’s accessible and attainable.
Everything “Marc Jacob” I’ve owned.. I’ve loved and repurchased with pure joy.
I love Marc Jacobs, it’s affordable and I love his line better than the other expensive line I buy
I think cost should be considered last when it comes to “luxury” items just because something costs less doesn’t always mean poor quality.
Marc on same level as coach. Entry level
His grunge line was dead on. It showed it was time for the leaders of fashion at the time to just go away.
Another thing about him is he appeals to an indie Crowd and aesthetic. Especially the way he used to look. There was a time where he was a household name amongst luxury Titans. He was the Designer at times as well.
The king of New York fashion.
Okay but now I want to buy a Marc Jacobs bag. 😂
Do it 🎉
The Tote Bag is affordable and definitely worth it as an iconic piece that you don't need to be precious with. Also if they're still available, his Boyfriend, white cotton shirts.
I've never had any pieces by his brand fail on me... the quality is fantastic.
Pieces are good quality. Irrelevant if it's a luxury or not, it is a good brand.
The leather bags are amazing. Soft leather.
I have his bucket bag. The quality is amazing for a $350 bag. I don’t have a luxury bag to compare it to but quality and craftsmanship it’s top notch!
Ahhh I have several of his pieces and I consider him contemporary
Definitely a contemporary brand
Luxury is subjective. If you earn minimum wage then a £100 handbag is a luxury. If you make £300k a year, then it's not.
But luxury is synonymous with quality and recognition. Longchamp is considered luxury, but their items are rather "affordable"

Marc Jacobs is a contemporary brand.
Daisy? Perfect by Marc Jacobs is where its at 👌🏻
I just discovered this fragrance. It stopped me in my tracks. Delicious!

def not focused on luxury, but he’s killing it with the heaven line
Marc is an icon!

Marc’s Stephen Sprouse collection for Louis Vuitton is one my absolute favourites! 👜🎨
I would say that Marc Jacobs is definitely a luxury brand for everyone. I recently just started purchasing his bags
Yes. It's accessible luxury. To people just following trends or knowing what's popular, it is. I also feel the brand competes with higher end in terms of creativity and luxe factor. It's just a young brand.

All I know is that Daisy and its flankers are some of the best fragrances I own.
I love Marc Jacobs.❤ Have some of his bags and love them. Also LV wouldn't be what it is today without his vision. Also love that his bags, like Coach, don't break my budget haha

I got the new iridescent micro tote today. It's so cute. It is going to look dynamite this summer!
Dynamite?

marc by marc jacobs for me is still the best 💓💯✨

He still has the stores in nyc!

Fashion used to be about people living their lives and others vying to cop their style.

Steve Maddon is nowhere near
Marc Jacobs though 🙏🇬🇧
I have one those bags for carrying on luggage. Definitely more affordable and pretty iconic too!!
I see it as affordable luxury. Similar to Coach & Kate Spade. He is an amazing designer though!
Well I LOVE the Leather tote bags.
I have the J shoulder bag and I can't tell you how much I love it. The quality of the leather and the attention to detail is impeccable. It's so classy but trendy with its neutral colour's. Don't know why people don't buy more of his handbags

I love Marc Jacob's bag. The leather is of a very good quality and they look good for years!
I love marc Jacobs 😊
Its still a luxury brand that anyone can buy, and that's a good thing. Fair pricing that will not break the bank, and nice perfume scents. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Luxury is for me great looking pieces, great craftsmanship and what buyers think when they own it. The prices are good but not overpriced like bottega. The totes are the best thing ever!
MJ is an affordable luxury brand. Above MK, Coach, Furla..but lower than Prada, Dior, LV, Gucci and much lower than Hermes, Chanel
I want the tote bag so bad omg
I consider contemporary fashion like Coach
Marc Jacob’s canvas totes hold up a lot better than the Prada ones that look horrible after a year of use.
they use full grain leather...so yes!!!!
I love Marc always have his elevated pieces are a feat technically he puts himself out there with no shame and he’s done it the hard way work work work and probably knows his history of fashion and not just clothes but print , furniture , fabrics , social norms more than anyone else besides Galliano and Karl
he doesn’t care if he’s LUXURY because he breathes it
The quality is much better than ALOT of higher priced brands.
The quality is certainly there and worth buying. Many designer bags isn’t worth the money.
It’s giving Isaac Mizrahi gonna be in Target and QVC in 5 years time. Which I still love Isaac Mizrahi.
Love his bags❤His makeup products were amazing too, hope he’ll bring mj beauty back!
everyones been saying this!!1 Never tried it personally LOL
Yes! The make up line! I have a couple of brushes left and I love them. I hope he relaunches
It’s refreshing to see so many comments by people who know what they like & stay true to it despite the chattering class of influencers.
Every girl in the school I work at has some type of MK bag or satchel. The Tote Bag is very popular.
I don’t think of Marc Jacobs as luxury. I think of a Michael Kors vibe. Definitely more for the masses. Not a bad thing.
I was think Michaels lord as well. Mass production pieces that are trendy and “affordable”
Agree, more upper mid than luxury. Which is just fine because it's quality stuff. I just don't think of it as luxury.
Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade are sort of lower end luxury. Though, I consider them sort of the work horses of the luxury world. They're the pieces you pull from for every day wear.
Love Marc forever
Love Marc Jacobs but I do not get his tote bags. His earlier bags were fabulous n the re-editions still very much sought after.
I like his stuff ❤
I don’t think it’s a luxury brand but I also believe their pieces are nice 💕
Man those totes i have three and people go crazy over them . I get alot of compliments, the black canvas tote is def everyone's fav. It for sure is a excellent quality brand 😍🫢😘❤️💋👍🏿🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yes they are!
I love his bags, and his perfumes 😊😊😊
No not a luxury brand - but respect.
For me Marc Jacobs is definitely a luxury brand.
Omg haven't heard Perry Ellis in ages.
Daisy smells amazing.
He did amazing things at Vuitton.
It's not luxury brand to me, but it's a respectable brand.
I love Daisy!!!❤🌺
I love the MJ Bag's quality.. I have the MJ Tote Bag Leather, back pack and love it
I would say Yes
Still daydreaming about the pink tote bag 😢
I want the micro blue one so badly I’m trying to “manifest” it 😹
Luxury to me is based on quality and innovation, not price or brand marketing success. Marc Jacob’s knows this, but I think his products are accessible and marketed well to have a range that sells due to branding, trend watch and price positioning, not quality or innovation.
Marc Jacobs is killing it! I ❤ him lol
Yes. ❤😊
That’s a good focus he has… more down to earth price for a luxury item… vs other luxury brand… for now…
i love Marc Jacobs totes
He is a fashion genius.
I liked his old designs, but not a fan of the news stuff. I also don’t think the quality is the same.
Marc Jacobs is probably like Coach but still one of my favorite brand❤❤❤
Luxury or not, his bags are AMAZING
he has come a long way hi pieces are sometimes even hard to find I have added so many of his bags to my collection.
Love Marc Jacobs ❤
I actually love Marc Jacobs. I believe he has vision and I will actually pay more to carry his THE bags. I have worn Daisy for years.
career corporate wear was on point
The quality feels lux also the tote back is soring him up up
Up 🤗
If you ask the question are they a luxury brand, they are not a luxury brand.
I love Marc Jacobs.
Marc is legend
Yes it still re sells for 50% or more of its original value, daisy is fabulous ❤
Went to a mark Jacob in NY with my wife. We bought a new bag but the chain will not close. Went back to the store, returned it, walked to a coach store and bought a similar bag, satisfied 😊
perhaps it was faulty, have you tried to get them replace it with a new one??
This can be happened with a luxury brand
