Thanks for sharing!! the video has answered a lot of questions that I've had about a used SC megatower. Finally I'll choose a new canyon spectral 29 because a trial bike is better option for me.
Always pleased to help! A trail bike would be perfect for my home trails as well, so if you’re not in the mountains so much and aren’t really doing any bike park, then it makes perfect sense.
Great review, I hired one about a year ago whilst in Glentress in Scotland and was very impressed with the package and much better to climb than my Whyte G170
Thanks. It's really interesting hearing from different people. This bike certainly seems divide opinions. I know a few people who really didn't get along with it and felt it was much too harsh a ride.
I've been riding a 2018 Hightower LT (with a Fox 38 and NOBL carbon wheels) and it's a great middle of the road bike, can do a little bit of everything, but it's not a super great climber and it's not super stable on the downhill chunky stuff. I bought an Ibis Ripley a few months ago which does great with the climbs and general trail riding, and then I just bought a used 2019 Megatower which came with the Santa Cruz reserve wheels and a Fox 38, and after a few rides, it's more of a do-it-all bike than my Hightower is but it's definitely better on the downhill sections. Much more stable and composed, and that lower VPP link setup is much improved over the V1 Hightower. Absolute beast of a bike, and it even climbs great, too!
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Very, very plush, much improved small bump sensitivity, definitely stiffer/stronger. It makes me think I need to now upgrade from the Rock Shox Super Deluxe Ultimate coil to a Fox DHX2 (which I have on my HT and love it).
Nice review, excellent advice on what to look for when buying a used SC Mega! I love my Mega! It is my one bike. As of now I don't plan on getting rid of mine. It is an amazing all around bike!!!
Thanks Jason. This last weekend the Mega reconfirmed what a great bike it is by handling 2 days of very gnarly trails that put a huge smile on my face!
It's a great bike. Just a shame that they are so damned expensive - I was almost put off by the price when I bought it. But in hindsight, you are definitely getting a level of quality that is higher than many other brands.
Got myself a Norco Sight 29er which is quite similar to the Mega. Might be on the bigger side for the Zurich Highlands, but very happy so far! Have big plans for next summer 😎
@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland same 😊was in Davos with my school trip a couple of months back ... we went hiking but I would have loved to have my bike there especially there was some giant enduro race going on
Thank you. I’ve been super pleased with the air shock. It has stood up to a ton of abuse and has worked perfectly. I’ve thought about trying a coil for a comparison, but haven’t found the time, money or quite frankly the need.
Ive just stumbled on this vid as i look for a reason to sell my mega and buy a hightower .. Truth be told my mega as ridden the Alps Scotland and the Lakes . Some of the UK highest peaks legal and none legal and has never left me feeling bored .. It climbs well but the Hightower climbs better .. but its not all about the ups is it .. Looks like im not selling now either :)

Bought a megatower for this season, always love seeing videos like this confirming exactly what I wanted!
Awesome review dude🤘🏼
Glad you liked. I'm sure you're going to love the bike. It's the best bike I've ever owned!
Nice review mate. It's always difficult to be "honest" about a bike you own personally... But this is a very well rounded review.
Nice job!
Thanks! 👍 I always feel that long term owners have the best insights.

Great review as always mate, honest as well 👍🏼 I always thought about an non assisted bike but for now at least happy with my current one 😊

The Norco is also very nice. Ripe for some big adventures 💪. What have you got planned?

Great review. Would nowadays go still with an airshock or with coil on the Megatower? Thx.

Too true my friend. The ups are purely a means to an end!
Hi there, is there a chance to email you? I may have some questions concerning my current tallboy and swapping into a Megatower
Sure. Trailtracker2019@gmail.com
I replaced my dropper with a fox transfer. That reverb was junk.
Good plan. I’m much happier with the Bike Yoke.
nice tips bro
