Subzero refrigerator, Hot face & door frame

- This diagnosis is for most Subzero refrigerators and refrigerators in general with a hot front & door frame caused by overly long compressor run times, and why this is happening.
Great video! We noticed the same thing w/ our 15yo Sub-Zero. The door frame too hot to touch. I did a google search and found your video showing how to remove the front cover plate exposing the condensers and fan. Just like you the condensers were on but not the fan. My husband encouraged by your video gave the fan blade a gentle nudge…Presto! The fan restarted. Whew!
Now he’s inspired to try replacing the fan on his own. I’m not so confident.

Thanks for the explainer video. My Sub Zero has all its guts underneath, with the condensation coils facing forward. Unfortunately this makes accessing the condenser fan a lot more difficult. 😕
Well, the video was on the 600 series. Didn't know Subzero built them any other way, but the concept remains the same as far as failure. Good luck!

Thank you, because I watched another video and they said it was a heater that turns on to prevent the door from freezing which didn’t make sense to me. I figured that it was something more going on with the frame being hot.
