Open Gateway APIs | AWS Events

In a panel with AWS, Guillermo Páez, CIO of Telecom Argentina, and the OSS Manager, Jorge Quiroz, talked about the importance of Open Gateway APIs for the company's transition from a Telco to a TechCo. They highlight how Open Gateway allows Telecom Argentina to expose its services to the wider community, beyond just its own customers, enabling the creation of value-added services.
Jorge Quiroz explained Telecom's focus on use cases related to fraud prevention and anti-fraud banking, as well as their positive experience working with AWS to develop and implement their first API for SIM Swap. He emphasized the agility and collaboration enabled by the AWS services, which allowed the Telecom's team to develop the solution quickly despite some members lacking prior AWS experience.
Telecom Argentina plans to continue advocating for Open Gateway adoption, develop additional APIs for Device Location, Device status and Number Verification, and build out their own Open Gateway platform. Telecom Argentina expressed enthusiasm for the potential of Open Gateway to drive digital transformation in the telecommunications industry.
