No Flags Etc.

The Welsh ‘neo-acoustic’ pop group No Flags Etc. from Swansea gigged in Rummers in Aber a few times in the 90's, this is the demo tape they sent me.
They probably were, the best band in Wales and recorded loads of stuff. They were on TV a few times and even did a live gig on BBC Radio Wales as well as producing a 12” single about Marilyn Monroe. They very quickly had a cult following on the South Wales live scene overflowing here in Aberystwyth
The first single followed shortly after. Two and a half minutes of pure pop (Wonderful), available only in 12 inch form, the song was widely played and purchased and it seemed only a matter of time before serious offers would see them exploding both nationally and internationally.
However their style migrated to a coarser, more corrosive sound along with line up changes the band's sound changed with the addition of brass, sax and keyboards. They were about to release their debut album Voila Godot when tragedy struck. The death of guitarist and founder member Martyn was a life altering event for all concerned and forced a reassessment of priorities.

Wow, what a gem! Thanks a lot for sharing this. If I'm not completely wrong the video doesn't contain all the songs from the tape. Could you please - on occasion - upload the rest as well? Would love to listen to the demo version of "Wonderful" for example. Such a great song. However, thanks anyway.
