I use this engine sound as a nighty-night lullaby. I’m not kidding! If you’re like me and already miss your two-wheeled buddy with winter coming, this is a pretty good soundtrack to go to sleep with.

@@FredEricS-Moto Did you do anything to the exhaust? Is it really the actual stock sound, like said in the description? Or did you take off the DB killer? I mean, this exhaust note is absolutely sublime. In this day and age, it's kind of surprising to see a manufacturer making sure the bike sounds good. :)
@@jaybou007 it's the stock exhaust without any modifications. Kawasaki overhauled the exhaust with the 2019 models and this is the result. Earlier models are really quiet and only sound good with an aftermarket exhaust imo, but models from 2019 onward sound really good with the stock exhaust 👍

Hallo Fred, endlich mal keinen Heitzer zu sehen, sondern deine Ausflugsfahrten mit deiner Kawasaki W800 mit zugenießen. Dein Video gibt für mich als überlegter Wiedereinsteiger nach langem Zögern den entscheidenden Impuls mich nun doch für dieses schöne Mortorrad zu entscheiden und auf die Straße zu wagen. Mit 189 Körpergröße dürfte das wohl noch mit dem Beinschluss gehen. Grüße Achim Danke für deinen besonnenen Fahrstil, der auch zu didsem Motrrad passt.
Freut mich, dass die Videos (und mein Fahrstil) gefallen 🙂 Ich bin 1.93 und passe noch gut auf die W800, wobei ich auf meiner Classic tatsächlich aufrechter sitze und die Beine entspannter sind. Der Unterschied ist aber minimal und fällt kaum auf. Auf beiden fährt es sich auf kurzen wie auf langen Touren sehr angenehm. Mein Mantra zum fahren auf Motorrädern wie auf Fahrrädern ist übrigens "fahre, als wärst du unsichtbar". Den Rat gab mir mein Vater vor vielen Jahren 😊
I 've been riding ADV-bikes my entire live but recently bought a RE classic 350.
That bike is so much fun that I almost never ride any other bikes. So now I am totally into the modern classics.
And what the most beautiful of all (except for the RE 350 🙂) : The W800. So keeping the classic and ordered the W800 2023 model.
In the meanwhile I am enjoying your virtual ride and sound.
Btw, where do you place your mic ? The sound is not spoiled by any windnoise.
I find having both the Classic 500 and the W800 to be a perfect combination of bikes to own. I really enjoy the feeling of riding an "old" bike when I'm on the Classic and I enjoy the sound and tad more power when on the W. Love both bikes and alternate between the two for my rides.
Mic placement isn't that important actually. It's more important to have proper mics and wind protection for them. Check out Filippo Rider's channel (Japanese YT bike channel), I basically do what he does 🤣

I have a Thruxton 900, BMW r100/7 scrambler customized, and my dear dear lovely Kawasaki w650 1999. Classic bikes are the best - not to fast, not to heavy and you allways liked to look at them. The Kawa W650 and

Sadly no, the DB killers are still in. The entire bike is unmodified 🙂
@@FredEricS-Moto I have W800, 2011 year and with stock exhaust it is so silent... I think that yours sounds much louder and more aggresive :)
That's because Kawasaki finally decided to improve the sound of the exhaust system with the 2019 models. Mine is a 2020. I took a 2012 model for a test ride and was surprised how silent it was. Knew then and there if I buy a W800, it has to be a newer model with the overhauled exhaust sound 😁👌

Nope, it's Germany. Although I do have some Norway videos coming up once I get around to editing. Might take a while though, life has been and is quite busy 😕

She's the second bike 😊 I will never sell the Classic, they're both with me for good 😁👍
