Nonfiction makes up about 50% of the trad market. Literary is half of what's left and the genres all fit into the remaining 25%. Romance is the biggest genre, followed by thrillers/mystery (these get lumped together by a lot of sales records/imprints).

Great videos! I have a question, though. Do they want a rough synopsis in the QL where the ending is explained, or a detailed blurb where it isn't? Just to spark interest?
@@markbechtold7372 in the query, it’s just a blurb (like the back cover copy), but they will also ask for a 2-page synopsis that does spoil the ending. The purpose of that document is to demonstrate a full and complete story arc; the purpose of a query is to spark interest (as you correctly point out)
