Nice job. We post-war/MPC-era guys don't have a choice, other than used, in what we get. You can still find NOS, now and then, although that is pretty rare in post-war. I would still buy 'gently' used trains if I was running the modern stuff. I think that the value is there and I have never gotten anything off eBay that wasn't what was in the pictures or description. This is a great hobby and we have so many choices, so there is something for everyone. An excellent video, as always.
75-80% of my collection is second hand. Choochoo auctions was a great place to buy.I do by the new Atlas cars when they are released.I have bought some new engines.Your take on the subject was pretty spot on
How are you doing. I just bought the lionel N & W lion chief + E 33 rectifier engine . It cost 250 $ runs great the controller is cheap but does the job.
Awesome video with some really excellent points. Another great reason to look for used is if something is getting a new release you might be able to get the old one for a great price, might have a few less features but that discount could be worth it.
I always buy new little more expensive but least i know what I'm getting but yeah I only order 1 engine cost they're expensive can only afford 1 per year verses buying 2 cheaper ones on ebay or other markets and I might stick more money into them if stuff isn't right on them than my 1 new engine
I find rolling stock is much safer to get preowned than engines, and the prices go down quicker for a boxcar than a locomotive! I ran outta time to add my thoughts on new vs used rolling stock but glad we’re discussing it in the comments!
I seen a couple of steam engines I'd like to add to my collection. A 2-8-2 and a 4-8-4. Along with a 4-6-2, I don't have, but I can't afford it. All my 0 gauge is used! I noticed you didn't have Peachys trains in your list she has a discount code going on with trains! 😊

I think the "risk" of buying used is a lot lower if you like fixing things yourself. Great video!

Nice! Those Lionchief engines are pretty solid! I haven’t had many issues with my secondhand Lionchief trains
99% of my trains are used. I had to restore some of the. Good upload. TRAINZ is a great place to by a train item.
Useful info. Bargains with track often are not.
Make sure to check what year the item came out if you want LEDs. LED upgrades can be pretty expensive, especially for passenger cars, so be careful.

Yessir! There’s a few common types they recycle
We Do Make Sure the Engine runs Properly.
Great Advice 👍🔥
Ooo, color, I like color.
Postwar has my heart
I Have Gone to the Train Shop and Got some Engines and Love What I come home with.my Wife And I run Ho And N Scale.

I go to train shows And Get what I Can and So Does My Wife The Majority we Go to Train Shows never had any Problems with our Engines.
Almost every freight car I own is used, almost every engine I own is new, that’s how I roll 😂

This is not a debate. If you want most items, used is the only option, and learn to fix, modify, and rebuild.

There are 5 or 6 codes that got cut off with the picture I used for the list. She’s on there in other videos where I’ve mentioned these codes.
