With Halloween now coming up I would love to see a gothic/horror/spooky fragrance video. Fragrances that invoke the feel of spooky smokey cathedrals, vampiric mansions with velvet and wine, graveyard smelling of tombstone flowers and wet earth, etc. would be interesting to see if you have any fragrances that fit that vibe!
Your comment immediately made me think of Lalique L'encre Noir and Perles de Lalique. Especially L'encre Noir. That smells of cold damp earth and is a bit of an unsettling scent, very earthy, very cold, very dark. I think it has cypress, vetiver, musk and cashmere woods. It is amazing layered with a non sweet floral - something like Banana Republic Malachite, which is peony and water iris, which is very airy and ethereal, or a big white floral bomb like Anais Anais, with its waft of smoky incense to pretty it up and add the tombstone flowers. I have always thought of it as a graveyard at the dead of night type of scent.
Love your videos! Some videos we'd love to see: fragrances to wear to a concert, fragrances to wear to holiday parties that aren't the cliché holiday profile (tired of smelling like caramel and apple pie at Christmas lol), fragrances that will make your ex sorry that they ever left you lol, fragrances to make your hair smell amazing. I'm always afraid the alcohol in fragrances will ruin my hair, but the smell from hair products doesn't usually last or project. Also fragrances that you can layer from day to night if you have an after-work event and you can't shower or start fresh. Thank you!
I really loved that after you did the "vanilla fragrances that men like" short, you followed it up with a "fragrances that repel men" 😂😂😂 so funny! Maybe some longer YT videos with a funny twist like that 😉
Lord of Misrule is a masterpiece in my book. Simple note structure, yet complex. Wearable as a signature. Nearly seasonless. I somehow have a different wearing experience each time I spritz it on. Perfectly unisex. So, so good. Lots of interesting choices here, A+ vid!
Agree! It lasts sooo long and has this unique sweetness in the drydown that's a bit earthy and the notes are so well blended. Such an outstanding quality for the money. If you live in east Europe, Lush Bulgaria sells it
I'm obsessed with Lord of Misrule. I bought 4 giant bottles of the shower gel pre-pandemic and I still have one to work my way through. I just can't get sick of it!
I reallyyy love the idea for more creative or unusual fragrance videos that fulfill you personally. I actually am SO tired of seeing the typical date night/best vanillas/sexiest fragrances videos done everywhere by everyone over and over so I am so appreciative of anything new, as someone who just doesn't care about those particular categories. If I took a shot every time "date night" showed up on my feed I'd wake up next week. Great recommendations as always.
I bought Lord of Misrule edp last year and holy shit it's one of my faves for fall and winter, it's like warm spicy patchouli. heavily reminds me of a vintage store in my neighborhood from my childhood.
I have the actual perfume Lord of Misrule- not the body spray you show- and it’s AMAZING! There is definitely a lot of the resinous vanilla coming through for me. I love lush perfumes and I will always have Lord of Misrule in my collection, along with Karma.
Awake by Akro is definitely an alternative fragrance! It’s a literal blast of cardamom in a hot, steaming shot of espresso. That is exactly what it smells like. I love it, and your description of the fragrance is 100% spot on. Also, it’s definitely an autumn/winter fragrance!
Love this video! Have you ever tried The smell of Freedom by Gorilla Perfume / Lush? That is my all time favorite. It’s a mix of 3 frangrances that’s fresh, spicy and woody with the most beautiful oudh in the base… amazing scent. Bought it at the Gorilla Perfume store in London (a year later, it was closed unfortunately)
My favorite Vanilla for an alternative individual is Amouage vanilla Barka Attar, its a smokey frankincense tonka bean vanilla and I'm OBSESSED with it! Its smokey/woody, smooth tonka, and delicious vanilla. Its a vanilla for someone who isn't so VANILLA 😜🤭😇😈
Olivia, I‘m so in love with your video ideas…every single time I feel like there is still so much to explore, thanks for that 😊 So interesting that many people are bringing up EPC at the moment. Would you mind thinking of a whole video on the brand? Especially when you mentioned that toasted sesame in Tonka Extraordinaire, I was like „Wait a minute…“ - Is it very close to EPC‘s other release Tonka Sesame? Would love to hear you on that one because I‘m considering buying but can‘t decide on one of these two. Both sound heavenly. Bests from Germany 🙃
I love you and your unapologetic style and you are just YOU! Good for you for doing this video! And your description of Lush Lord of Misrule was ON POINT!!!
I started following you today, in part, because you had a more alternative look and your taste seemed similar to mine in terms of fragrances. I'm alternative myself, and turned to niche fragrances after realizing that the mainstream fragrances just did not appeal to me. So, I definitely very much appreciate this video, and the rest of your channel!
Hey Olivia, I have been a fan for a year, but am commenting for the 1st time. To be honest, I am not alternative in my expression, but have always been driven only based on my own perceptions of beauty, style, aesthetics, and above all opinions. With age and experience, I discovered, that my honest choices in every category, are a 100% 2 things: a) the most expensive option; 2) the one that no one else would pick. I have been a perfume enthusiast for 4 years now, and while my collection grew extensively, my tastes became very specific and narrow. I always go for the weird fragrance, specifically designed to not smell like a snack (I have both aesthetic and philosophical issue with this trend) Long story short - I have never clicked a video faster :) And my favorite weird fragrance, that is perfect for fall - Piment Brulant by L'Artisan Parfumeur. It is straight up chilies, with cocoa sprinkled on top!
I love every single one of these, thank you SO much for not holding back, often times I feel left out in more marketable fragrance reviews, so so happy you put this out :)
Ooh I’ve got a couple Recs that have weird / unique scent profiles ! Battle Tank by Lush - bubblegum and metal notes Cuir Grenat by L’artisan Parfumeur - fresh raspberry and leather Xx
I've recently bought fracas exactly because I love strong white florals and vintage perfumes are my heaven. At the beginning I couldn't get anything except a slight creaminess but now I am addicted to it.
I stumbled upon Bon Parfumeur 603 some months ago and it's one that I find myself reaching for. It's a captivating scent. I guess I have an alternative taste!
I don’t smoke but Marlboro reds are extremely comforting to me because my dad smoked until I was 5, I understand the weird like for cigarettes smoke :)
I think more creative and unique videos are more valuable when every perfume youtuber already has done the usual date night topic video. I would have never thought of "perfumes for alternative people" but I immediately was interested, especially since I'm on the lookout for good perfumes that aren't mainstream.
I really love the themes that you bring to your videos! I think they are really unique. Could you do a video for alternative people who like citrus, floral and fruity perfumes? I am Brazilian and because of the hot weather I always navigate for these kind of fragrances, sadly I don't know many perfumes that are more fresh but still witchy and mysterious! (sorry for any grammar mistakes) Thank you!
Just subscribed to you today. I love the creativ way you describe the perfumes and the ideas for your videos. I would love to see videos titled: "-core Perfumes" like Perfumes for Cottagecore, Dark Academia and so on. I would like to smell like a mystical witch. Would love to smell like rainy moss 😍
I love this unique list of scents! I say keep going with this train of thought and do more videos like it that give your creativity room to flourish 😊I think a video on perfumes for "oddly specific activities" could be a fun idea to explore! ~Caroline
I love the different concepts! They’re my favorite more interesting to watch things I haven’t heard a million times before. I would love to see some perfumes for couples as in a masculine pick for him and the female counterpart for going out on double dates 🙏🏻
HAPPY SATURDAY from Seattle,Olivia!....What a FABULOUS VIDEO,my dear!...we must ALWAYS REMEMBER that we are THE SAME "under the skin",so,this topic should appeal to EVERYONE!....when it comes to "video content",I think you have been RIGHT ON TREND so,far,...but,if you are in need of ideas,I'm your gal!! Would you ever try or review more indie perfume brands? I mostly buy indie oil perfumes (bc it's within my budget) but don't see many people make vidos about them. Lovesick Witchery is my favorite that I've tried so far, and they have EDPs too. Some others I know of are Andromedas Curse, Solstice Scents, Alkemia, Death and Floral, and Black Pheonix Alchemy Lab. But there are a ton of others of course.
Lovesick Witchery is amazing! I've picked up so many fragrances from them recently. I love Virgo, Samhain, No 13, and Orchard Brew. What are your favs?
@@maeverose2290 ooooh Melancholia will probably be in my next order now! Just pulled it up and it's right up my alley. Virgo is light, powdery, woodsy and airy. It's like a forest shadow breeze and I love it. You probably will too

I always enjoy your videos and I'm looking forward to what else you come up with. Could you do some videos on how to store perfume, how to get them to macerate, the best way to spray them to promote protection and longevity?
I love the topic idea, although anything that makes you talk about scents is fine 😅 I just wondered if anybody else chooses perfumes not to complement their appearance but to "contrast"? If I look bland because I don't wear jewellery or makeup, I like to wear a more extravagant perfume, if I look a bit butch (is that a real word?) I sometimes like to wear sweet girly perfumes, and so

Halloween is coming up, why not a video on dark & dangerous scents or a video on perfumes w/ "scary" off putting notes (civet, castoreum) done right.
That makeup is insane. I’m a guy and I don’t know sh.. about make up but oh my. Stunning.
Whatt I’m super heavily tattooed, goth, & also obsessed with fragrance! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a channel that fit me so well haha.

I like learning about these different perfumes. I feel like there are so many incentives for creators to stay on the trending smells.
Love this idea for a video. I've been on a mission to smell like rotten fruit lately for some inexplicable reason so I dig this theme lol.
