For sure! The landowner of the second permission told us prior to digging he wanted whatever we found. I don’t mind that, but it can be tough to let things go. So, I cleaned up my bullets real nice for him. He was so excited and welcomed us back anytime. Sometimes the connection and networking is just as important as the finds. 👍🏻
Man some nice relics. I have yet to door knock. But I have called on the phone just bc I have more time at home than I do to find somewhere to detect. So it makes it difficult. You all have some old history in your area. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment. Door knocking can be tough, but it can pay off big time. The first one is the toughest. I’ve called too. To get permissions, anything goes, right?!
A nice hunt and some great finds. if you are ever down our way you are more than welcome to tag along for a Jones/Imboden hunt with us/ Take care the Professor.
Very nice civil war finds. When you knock on doors, do people normally let you keep everything? Great video and a super day today to be out with friends.
It’s iffy each time. Most of the time, they just want to see finds. But the second permission of this video, the property owner wanted to keep everything. We gave him all the bullets. He loved it. AND he invited us back so it was worth it. Sometimes you gotta give a little to get a little, you know?
Maybe I’ll do that with a permission we already have. Simulate it, you know? Not sure about getting out of the truck with “cameras rolling”, know what I mean?
nice finds, what metal detector would you recomend for me. Ive never metal detected, I just got alot of land In the central state of Guanajuato, Mexico which has alot of history with the revolution. any ways, there is history of the mexican fighters hidding in these mountains and stashing gold and silver in caves on the property. owners befor me have found a gold and a silver coin after plowing and strong raining washed them up. I cant afford an expensive detector but let me know what you think will work for me
Thanks for checking in. Depends on your budget. I would recommend brands Garrett or Fisher for beginners. They both make entry level detectors $300-$500. If you have more to spend, options open up a bit. I don’t have a vast experience with many detectors. I started with Garrett, went to Fisher, and back to Garrett. I like simple machines, and that’s what they make. Better technology comes with a higher price and greater learning curve.
Hey brother I’m up the road a piece western Pennsylvania Ohio 10 minutes. What do you detect everything, we study 1800 maps and go after it sometime we fail but more times than not we find something, get backgoodluck
Hey! I’ll detect anywhere I can get permission, you know? I really love Colonial sites, but Civil War relics get me going too. I’m sure western PA has beautiful sites. I study maps as well. That plays a huge role in the hobby to find “forgotten” sites. Your ground froze up there?
Nice dig!!! You had some great finds as well!!! Can't wait for the next dig!!! God bless!!!
Thanks Lori! Appreciate that very much! I haven’t been out in weeks though. Been frozen ground here.

Really sweet finds!! I enjoyed coming along for the hunt. We are under 15 inches of snow here in Indiana. Take care , Jon.

You should of video taped the permission request so others can learn the process. Thanx
