ASMR-Canadian Currency

Hey everyone, I thought it would be cool to do a video showcasing and talking about Canadian money! There are a few instances where I slide money across my table and it sounds AWFUL, so I apologize for that. Please enjoy!

Watching from the US, we really need to catch up on currency. Lol. Here in the United States, currency is so boring. Other countries of the world have beautiful works of art for currencies (Canada is no exception). We could really learn from them. Love this video! So interesting. Subscribed. Cheers. 💶💵

I just came from ALB in whisperland’s ASMR video and she was explaining everything inside her purse and I absolutely never knew that Canadian money is plastic!!! And that really blows my mind because if it gets dirty it’s just so easy to wipe away unlike American money. So when I came to your channel and as you were describing everything it just blows my mind more!!! Like come on Braille?!?! On currency?!??? Americans need to step up

i know the 1 cent was discontinued in 2012 and is still legal tender but do they still pop up in circulation

No, you cant pay with pennies at all if using cash so they don’t turn up anywhere. I hope that answered your question!

I find the old Canadian currency is the best. But maybe it's just because I'm getting older and not used to the new future. The train on the 10 dollar bill is represented as the the Canadian rail way which Sir John McDonald founded ii believe.

There certainly is something special about feeling actual paper money rather than the current plastic! The older bills certainly did have a more refined, sophisticated feel, I'd say.

Yes. The penny no longer circulates. So if you pay debit/credit/cheque/etc you’d still pay the exact amount, but if you pay cash. Then you’d have to either round up or down to the nearest $0.05 increment. So $1.97 -> $1.95. But $1.98 -> $2.00.
