So cool to watch High School and then come back here to see the real thing.
It's so surreal when you realize that the parts where they're actually singing are probably silenced because the songs went on to be hits big enough to require paying a fee that the CBC isn't even willing to pony up so they can put this clip here unedited. Imagine the looks on their faces if you told them that that would eventually happen at the time.
And now they have a show made about these teenage years. Well, they have made it!
I hope their career goes all the way. I like their style too, very 90s vibe. 🙏🤩
Just read this part of “High School”. I was in graduate school when they began so they were off my radar and actually just came on it because of the tv show. Incredible talent!

@@TheMrCC21 it’s relevant to the fact that the story is about two high school kids who seem to have a special talent unusual for the age, so the fact that their mom is picking them up just adds to the fact of how young they were and how much they were just doing the normal school kid things when they were really noticed for the first time. I personally don’t care that it wasn’t commented on, but to me knowing that little fact is cool and funny. It’s an Easter egg of sorts. Why the hostility about noticing it? It could have been included as a sentence in the piece and added value to it, but ok it wasn’t. My point is that it’s a fun fact to see.

@@saraanderson2784 He is referring to the "Garage Warz" poster, which lists them as "Sarah and Tegan," rather than "Tegan and Sara," as we know them. Perhaps you are being sarcastic, though...
@@ogokiify whoops, my bad. I knew they used to go by, ‘Sara and Tengan’ when they first started but didn’t notice the spelling mistake on the poster. Im just someone whose name is pronounced the same and gets so frustrated when people keep spelling it wrong even when your name is right in front of them on messenger or email or something. 😂

I was a big Tegan and Sarah fanboy back in the day, but dated into/hung out with Nu Metal and goth kids. And I would concur: this group usually got the "eye roll" from metal girls. Was kinda considered pretentious college rock, to be honest. Or too wholesome/boring: most girls were already quite a bit more wild than these two by 98'. I love both acts, tho!
