@@jhagestad When Main Street won, only Myron and Mike were first time gold medalists. Tony is a four time gold medalist and Roger is a two time gold medalist. Tony and Roger actually won their first together as members of Keepsake, back in 1992. They won again on the 25th anniversary of their first gold medal. All that to say I absolutely agree - Main Street had been a fan favorite for years and I loved that they finally won, especially since they had agreed to hang it up as Main Street after that International. Got the gold on the last try. It was great to see them win. An all time quartet.
Lindsey Steel while there might have been some who made it the whole way, others took a breath. If you listen closely there are 2 parts where the sound changed (ever so slightly of course as these guys are pros) and that was probably because a few guys took a breath at those spots.
Although Thomas Riedel has a solid point, these long post notes are a common feature in the barbershop community, even in quartets, where there's no place for lifts. Some of the best posters are Tim Waurick (from Vocal Spectrum), Jakob Stenberg (Ringmasters), Tony DeRosa (he's been in so many quartets it's hard to keep track: Keepsake, Platinum, Max Q, and currently Main Street).
@@thomasriedel1379 it's a tenor post switched to a lead post. I have a feeling that the arranger of this song had intended for the baritones to post the note all the way through but worried if the note was going to be too strenuous for the older members of the AIC.
I can spot: * Masterpiece * Main Street * Vocal Spectrum * Crossroads * Forefront * Ringmasters (except Martin) * Instant Classic * Storm Front * OC Times * Realtime * Michigan Jake * Kent Martin of the Boston Common * Jim Bagby of Rural Route 4 * FRED * Gary Lewis of PLATINUM and Max Q * Dave Kindinger of Joker's Wild * Chris Vaughn and Jim Kline of Gotcha! * Brian Beck of the Dealer's Choice and Side Street Ramblers * Gary Parker of the Dealer's Choice * Doug Harrington of Second Edition * Paul Gilman of the Interstate Rivals and Marquis * John Miller of Grandma's Boys and The New Tradition * Jay Hawkins of the Interstate Rivals and Marquis * Musical Island Boys * Ben Ayling of The Ritz * Bob Spong of Happiness Emporium * Randy Baughman of Yesteryear * John Devine of the Innsiders
cas, thank you for the names! I have such a hard time telling who is who though. Wouldn't it be awesome if somebody could pick a spot in the playback (like around :52 maybe) and go L to R and match Initials (or which Quartet in) to the bodies? If they're in a line could say 'Floor, 1st level, 2nd level, Back', etc. Yeah, I know, I'm dreamin...
I can't tell you WHO... but I can tell you that they were there that night... on the other side of the door... across the hallway.... not participating... ;-p
I could spot three of the four Main Street guys and I was wondering where the fourth was. Then I realized he was the one conducting.
After watching all the Main Street vids and then seeing them win in 2017, it was so cool to see them singing with the AIC! Bravo!

@@iMr_Jones Oh wow - I was aware of Tony’s multi-gold status but not Roger’s. I appreciate you sharing that bit of their history!
Im addicted to these videos hahah who else?
I hope I'll be in them one day.
I like the Newfangled fours rendition just a little more
Boy the guys at the very end who had to keep holding that note! Incredible lung capacity and breath control!

It's staggering! Choral technique for those of us who are impAIRed. 😁
Thomas Riedel even with a lift, still very impressive

The spot where Daivid was like "and we all sang it before we got the gold"
NOT THE NEWFANGLED FOUR
Is that what's being referenced? That's what I thought of to but just to be sure...
Just shows how amazing newfangled four are. But seriously, great work.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is also a mary poppins song which was made in 1960's I think so it isn't really taken from The Newfangled Four.
I'm one year too late aren't I?
@@matasburdulis5821 yeah, but still a fairly important point. What NF4 is doing is very different to what the AIC is doing.
the last harmony is all kitzmiller, fite me
Great save on the keychange by the Bass!
Tony's stance at 3:20: "YEET"
Somebody ought to edit it so it looks like he’s throwing a Pokeball

Well done leads last note
They all sung from one breath for 15 seconds.
Is it just me hearing some slight 9th at the last part? Haha So freakin ear candy though, great performance
Yay Tony!
Love this!!!!
WOW!
My 8 yr old daughter is obsessed with Barbershop!
Good for her!
you can hear the kitzmiller in this
What do you mean? Did he arrange it
This isn't the music that the newflanged four sang?
Different arrangement and not a parody
Does anyone know who the arranger was for this one? I love it!
Clay Hine
wow
Who were the guys in the shiny silver suits.
Masterpiece I assume?

Who is that
Bass of 2016 International Champions Forefront
That would be Brian O'Dell the first African American to win international gold.
@@steveboone1498 he messed up the first few notes tho lol
@@toptrump1499 he actually improvised the notes
Is the first soloist Matt Gifford?
Who ever though it was a good idea to keep emphasising ‘fraaaas’ spoiled that whole thing.
I though it was Alice In Chains lol 😂
Them doing a barbershop choir rendition of “Man in the Box” would be EPIC
