I’ll never forget seeing you for the first time on Saturday night live in 1978. You performed Satisfaction. I was 18. I jumped on the phone and called my best friend, you gotta see these guys on the TV!! Turn it on! Too bad we have to get old and pass on. Whip It and Workin’ in a Coal Mine are my favorites. They don’t make em like DEVO anymore that’s for sure.
I grew up with these guys and I'm proud to say I still have my flower pot I got in the early '80s. A truly One of a kind incredible band. A band that is deserving to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I don't even want to discuss incredible influence in music videos. Even if they didn't produce one video they should be in the Hall of Fame based on their unique sound and incredible talent to produce awesome music. I've never heard of any other band but Devo that would break instruments to create a new sound. As a teen I was down with the evolution and love listening to the albums. I even caught my mother after coming home from school one day listening to my Devo and B-52 albums. Now what does that tell you. Now in my mid fifties it's amazing that I can still remember a lot of lyrics to their songs and still enjoying listening to the albums. Thank you Devo for decades of musical pleasure. Rock on Spuds!
