I loved your tribute to Kevin Macleod. I enjoyed what you played in this video. What you demonstrated in this video is that you can play the same music that you hear on TikTok or other social media platforms on either an arranger or synthesizer. Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Kevin Macleod has owned UA-cam music for years with shear quantity. He's by far the biggest contributor of royalty free youtube music - and youtube makes it very easy to find and use.
Kevin is such a legend. Hundreds of millions of people have heard his stuff even if they aren’t aware of it. Sadly it seems he hasn’t been able to springboard to much financial success in other areas.
I mean, it's not because I love Yamaha and because it's more expensive. But the PSR does a great job at making royalty free UA-cam music, that's for sure :).
All of those are most excellent covers of UA-cam background music, Woody. I would say the only thing you need in the mix is just one more thing: Cowbell. You need more.
They’re such reconizable tunes and are very catchy. It seems like everybody and their grandmother uses them. The first one is often used on cat video channels such as Cole and Marmalade and such (probably because of the mischievous feel it portrays such as the playfullness of a cat), the third tune I reconize from a channel called “don’t shoot the rabbit”. Both keyboards sound equally good, they both pull off some nice pizzicato sounds.
Thank you for your videos, I've learned a great deal from your electribe 2 tutorials. I wrote you the same message in an older video of yours.. I wanted to ask you a question unrelated to this video: I have a pattern I created on My Electribe 2, once the pattern is playing, for some reason the "master effects channel won't stay on, the "MFX hold" and "Master Fx" buttons light indicator are both lit, but the effected (delay) signal only stays on for four seconds then it fades away. I can turn on the "MFX hold" button OFF and quickly turn it back on and the effect turns on for four seconds then it fades away.. I did not set up any function for that to happen, it just suddenly did. I've looked in the menu section of the unit but I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution. So my question is, is there a solution to that problem? Thank you
And non-valid Copyright strike in 3...2... No, I am of course being silly. Kev's stuff is too well known for those nasty bots. A nice bit of work Woody! I think the nearly-Genos SX beat the i3 at that game. Fun stuff!
Thank you Woody. An interesting and entertaining video. I'm sure you know the venerable (UK) BBC had a mission to educate. You have certainly achieved that: now I know it's rude in Swedish to listen (höra). I also knew the name Kevin MacLeod from creator software - excellent tracks, but you inspired me to (Wikipedia) learn more. Great job - Don
Fun musical gadgetry. The oboe sounded very real. I think of the pastoral in Barber's Overture to the School for scandal. The "hora"? Klezmer music I think.
Would select both of them ,For something like putting music in an Inspector Clouseau movie as if it was a silent movie the yamaha for the loud and quick moving scene and the Korg for the quiet chasing, comic, sneaking scene they both sound different and yet good for that to me.
I think a good middle-ground between this Korg i3 and Yamaha PSR-SX900 would be the Korg PA700, or even the PA1000, both more expensive than the i3 but cheaper than the SX900. I have owned the PA1000 and that was one hell of an arranger (and the PA700 is equally impressive, only missing out on a few features), but due to time constraints, I had to sell it (now concentrating on just piano ;-). But nice video nonetheless !
My grandmother used to watch old Lawrence all the time when I was a little guy back in the 70s. Now I realize I often listen to music from 30 years ago, as well. So it goes.
I wish I knew who’s buying enough of these awful arranger keyboards to keep the product line viable. It’s like they haven’t updated the wave ROM and patches in them in over 25 years. It’s just embarrassing to listen to.
@@winddealer1 I understand the instant gratification that's associated with playing an arranger - I've been using workstations, arrangers, analog and VA synths for almost 30 years. I've also said nothing about removing the product type from the market. If companies spent time upgrading them to be more on par with what musicians expect, they would actually sell more of them. Flash memory is exceptionally cheap these days (unlike ROM chips of the 80s/90s), so there is no excuse for it. Additionally, let's be real here - in the modern age, no one should have to pay 2k for an arranger keyboard that has sounds that are so bad and out of date that you have to immediately just mute it all and route your MIDI to VSTs. This is not true of most of the big 4's flagships or even entry level workstations. You are normalizing garbage products and giving the keyboard companies more reasons to not evolve their arrangers.
@@winddealer1 If you want to be an idiot and basically re-buy the same product that was sold to you in the late 90s in a new shell, more power to you I guess. I'm also curious to know where you got your information on sales figures for the almighty Genos that is just tearing up the market and has made itself an industry leader. Oh wait, there isn't any publicly available. But thanks for your lesson on global markets. You also can't go to any Guitar Center or Sam Ash outside of NYC or LA to actually buy an arranger or try one out, because they don't keep them in stock. Because people don't buy them.
Yeah. Keyboard arrangers are expensive but sounds like shit!! For example the SX700 is 1499$ and MODX is 1299$ if we compare these too keyboard the sound of the SX is crap and just comes from the old discontinued Motif series while it is expensive than the MODX!! So unbelievable. No CFX, very horrible rhodes, old guitar sounds, just shitty old discontinued Motif sounds! To get the sounds of MODX in an arranger, Yamaha demands $3500 more.

a smile in my face during all the video. I enjoy it a lot. Love arrengers
That made me smile as always, great fun video, thanks for posting.

Even Chelsea Charms uses his stuff now and then.... er, so I'm told. 8-[
That was great Woody! Thank you!
I mean, it's not because I love Yamaha and because it's more expensive.

that's a really great way of putting it!
This is Yamaha SX900.
PSR series were finished.

Hey Woody! Great job! Sounds great! I have a Korg Pa50SD to relax.
You did an Amazing job there Woody.
Gotta love those Arrangers💖
I wish I kept mine🥺
Congratzz on the 50k subs btw
thanks for watching sam!
wow, really fun, you are so handy with these keyboards !!!
Amazing sound😎😎😁

glad you recognised them and enjoyed the keys!
Awesome job! Very entertaining and we learned some Swedish as well. :-)
oh, no don't call anybody that...
@@WoodyPianoShack No worries, I understood that it was not a very nice word in Swedish from your video.

sorry did not see your other question, i'm sorry i don't have the tribe and don't remember those details. try posting on the korg user forums?
It was Very interesting, thanks.
Absolutely amazing!!!
My EK-50 has several Polka styles and had to think of John Candy in Home Alone 😂 John is also known as Gus Polinsky 😅
Well.......that was different, a very entertaining!!!

this is one vid where I was totally not anticipating any form of copyright strike, but nervous nonetheless!

Overuse but these pieces are pretty cool lol. great job
Very enjoyable vid! 😀
The Yamaha sound IMHO is quite better. But price is also very different!
Ohh introducing melody reminded Me of the great Manic Miner game on Sinclair Spectrum back in the 80´s 😎👍
Korg i3 is like something of "new concept arranger" but I like old Korg i3 from 1993. Yamaha PSR SX 900 is OK. Like it. 👍
Hey Mr.Woody, i'm wondering if the keybed of Psr sx900 feels anything close to Korg Triton or maybe Tyros?
it's a very nice keybed, but not quite the same quality as those others you mention.
@@WoodyPianoShack Thanks!
Thank you for this video.
🙂🙂🙂
Hey Woody! Could u please me give the Styles that you have used in SX 900? So that that would be useful for me🙄
animation fantasy and orchestral polka for 2 songs, but i did change the instruments and muted parts.
@@WoodyPianoShack Thanks For that man 😀
That's an interesting idea.

Extraño los demos con el Roland D50
needs a second part xD
In b4 this goes viral. Great idea, Woody.
no such luck, thanks!
Nice
did you recognise them? of course you did... :D
@@WoodyPianoShack yes I think if you have heard one of them you have heard all of them :)
Yeah...like heard that weasel tune a million times, at least.
Lawrence Welk meets Woody's Piano Shack - 2020
had to google him, and enjoyed the easy listening! ;)

youtube premiere countdown tune?
.. challenge!
it's been a while since I heard that, i'll listen out for it!
Dear woody, new korg'i3 doesn't belong to professional arranger keyboards group 🙂
It's an arranger that can be used by beginners and professionals alike, so semantics.
I thought only cheap keyboards had built-in speakers. I was wrong.
Actually you're right
All "flagships" whether arranger or Synth have no integrated speakers
I really want to see kevin comment on this video.
yeah, kevin, why aren't you watching this? :D
