Royals Out In style at Royal Ascot Ladies’ Day

- King Charles and Queen Camilla have attended the third day of Royal Ascot, known as Ladies’ Day, where punters are encouraged to add a bit of colour and creativity to their race-going outfits. The Princess Royal, her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, her daughter Zara Tindall, and son-in-law Mike Tindall joined the King and Queen in the royal box. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were also in attendance. The King and Queen, who took on Queen Elizabeth II's racing horses, had a thoroughbred entered in the King George V Stakes. Unfortunately for them, the bay gelding Gilded Water and jockey Tom Marquand could only manage 12th place. Report by Iain Jones.

Whenever she is there, I ALWAYS look at Lady Sarah Chatto (Princess Margaret’s daughter). She is always very elegant, perfect proportions and colors of clothing and accessories. In my humble opinion she is always the best dressed.

I wasn’t terribly keen on the idea of Camilla as Queen of England but she has grown into the role surprisingly well.
Why do people have to always say this? You put her down and then you act like you're being gracious and holding her up. We don't even have a Queen of England!
As a life-long admirer of Queen Elizabeth II, is it really so wrong that I felt Mrs PB was a somewhat less than worthy successor to the title of Queen? But unblemished records such as that of her late majesty are rare - she set the bar so high that, in truth, I wasn’t terribly keen on the idea of anyone taking her place.
As to the question about why people “have to always say this” by which you seem to mean expressing their mixed feelings about Camilla, why does this surprise you? By any standard, her past is less than tidy and when someone holds an exalted position which is meant to inspire respect and admiration, I’m afraid that matters. To pretend otherwise is deluded and naive.
As the Princess Royal recently observed: Camilla isn’t a natural for the role. Despite this, however, she is doing a decent job and must be commended for that - but that doesn’t mean that I or anyone else is obliged to pretend that we were enthusiastic about the idea of Camilla as Queen.

My father was a large man and lost a third of his bodyweight in six months purely on a prescribed diet after developing intestinal cancer. It bought him an extra three years of life. As a father and grandfather, I'm sure the King would be grateful for the same.
