  • #India, with a population of 1.4 billion, is the fifth-largest economy and the third-largest greenhouse gas emitter in the world. As the country aims to become the third-largest economy by 2030, lifting a significant portion of its population out of economic and #EnergyPoverty, it faces an uphill task of accelerating #decarbonization of their energy system to meet the 2070 #NetZero #pledge.
    To achieve these ambitious goals, India plans a massive expansion of its electrification efforts, focusing strongly on #RenewableEnergy, particularly #solar power. Despite the tremendous potential for distributed solar in the residential sector, this segment has fallen behind expectations. However, recent efforts show a renewed push to mobilize #rooftop solar.
    Join Shantanu Roy ( / shantanu-roy-97893a115 ) from the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) and Avidipto Biswas ( / avidipto-biswas-1878603a , NEAH Expert to explore the Indian rooftop solar ecosystem, covering:
    - Solar deployment potential and India’s targets;
    - Key policies, enablers, and barriers;
    - Key local stakeholders;
    - Insights into India’s distributed solar landscape;
    - How #residential users can adopt rooftop solar.
    - The discussion provides practical information for residential users on adopting rooftop solar and offers an extensive understanding of India's distributed solar landscape for global energy policy enthusiasts.
    Don’t miss this comprehensive look into India’s rooftop solar potential!
