The framework for the film is provided by one of the highlights of Anne Sofie’s career, her performance as Octavian in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier for Carlos Kleiber. Felicity Lott who was the Marschallin in the same production contributes to the program.
Performance extracts featuring Anne Sofie come from Abbatini’s La comica del cielo - her first professional stage appearance; a Robert Wilson production of Gluck’s Alceste; Sven David Sandstrom’s modern opera Staden; Ravel’s ShkhCrazade; and Handel’s
Pasticcio. In a rousing finish, she is captured taking part in a spirited rendition of Offenbach’s Duo des Alsaciens during a much-acclaimed concert at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

Thanks for posting! Can't get enough of her.
Thank you for posting. Such an interesting documentary and Anne Sofie articulates so well and gives such insight into her preparation for roles.
great doco. I have been watching litttle videos of Anne Sophoe during the pandemic
I was looking for this documentary for years. Thanks for post it.
Glad you found it! ;)
The role of Quin-Quin -Octavian in “Rosenkavalier” was meant for Anne Sofie von Otter….the best ever. Richard Strauss must have meant someone like her to do it.
This documentary was released in 2001.
j'ai aimer cet interview
c'est la seule video ou j'ai vu le mari benny
Is anyone else having trouble here? The video is not aligned with the speech.
No.
pauvre anne sofie elle a perdu un etre cher mais je crois que son mari a manque de courage parce que quand on se suicide ca donne a tes ennemis l'avantage d'en profiter pour te disqualifier tu n'est plus la pour te defendre c'est mon point de vue
Heartbraking to see Mme von Otter and her husband together here.
Why? Did he die?
@@mckavitt13 he commited suicide after allegations came up that eventually turned out to be baseless
