Day after day for months takes the fun out of hiking. For me this trail is a 2 or 3 year journey. That way it is fun not work. Everyone is different.
Some days are just going to be harder from the get-go as you know. We are all rooting for you and your successful journey. Thank you for taking your time to share as always.
You mention the birdsong at about 1:50. Prominent in the chorus is the sweet whistling of a hooded warbler and the melodious caroling of a rose-breasted grosbeak. That's good company to keep!

Glad the trail was friendly today no wet shoes rock scrambles just a climb after the wayside, not fair, and that giant bunny.Once Followed a porcupine for about 50 yards before it went bushwhacking. 😎

Molly was your stomach dragging the ground after all that good food? 🙂When you have mornings like that when you don't feel like getting on the trail, do you and Ziggy give one another pep talks or a "Ok, we gotta get going"? I could see that being another benefit of hiking with someone.

Hi, Mojo! I'm an actor from NYC currently doing a play out at Totem Pole Playhouse in Caledonia State Park (it's called CLUE - it's a staged version of the 1985 film, lots of fun!) and we see a ton of AT hikers as we drive to the theatre each day. We don't open until next Friday but if you haven't passed us yet let me know if you'd like to swing by and watch a little bit of rehearsal! It's tons of fun. I stumbled upon your vlogs randomly and have watched them all - love following your journey! Also, one of the other lead actors in the show - his partner is currently thru hiking the AT as well!
