Charges were never FILED. You can't drop charges if they were never filed. I'm guessing the "evidence" didn't support the photog's story and he backed off.
Pretty much as expected. Whether or not the photographer got paid some kind of consideration to call it a misunderstanding, if it was done right we'll probably never know.
The owner of the night club said he went over the security footage and said it never happened, several people that were there also said it never happened. Rice should sue the dude for false claims.

I actually think instead of Rice suing the guy, the LEO should charge the photog with false filing. This stuff doesn't stop until there are real world consequences for doing it.

The likelihood a DA is going go further and press charges when the lead witness (the photographer) is likely to not testify, is very low. You’d want video evidence at that point.

Just saying, I had to find my car when it was stolen. Hilariously enough 3 months after it was stolen and insurance had already paid out, I found it sitting behind a cvs, I randomly went to. Couldn't believe it. They hit a pole or something with my cobra and it was destroyed. how is a destroyed car just sitting behind a building for months with out anyone being notified lol. gotta love KC.

@@DOU8LE Same thing happened to friends of mine. Stole their car out of their driveway. Got their insurance settlement. A month later their son is dropping a friend off and sees their car parked on the street with different tags on it. Looked at the vin tag and called the cops. Insurance company got the car.

It may be up to the state whether or not to drop charges, but with the victim dropping the charges, the state would be trying to prosecute an assault case with essentially no victim. Basically, it's a huge waste of time for any prosecutor to try to take that to court.

Everyone keeps saying Rice will get pushed to next year if his legal issues are not completed. I disagree with that. He's already admitted to doing it. He will be on the exemp list at the beginning of the season if it's not completed. It's in their best entries to get it completed. If they put Justyn Ross on the exempt list while his was playing out they definitely will put Rice on the to start this season if the suspension hasn't come down. There's no way the league is going to let him play week one.
“Everyone” isn’t saying this, for the most part real analysts are stating 8 games to a year suspension.

Well, I’m glad as an American we have this little thing called the Constitution of the United States, which includes this lists of our SPECIFIC rights which are ordained by GOD, not the frickin government. Oh this list includes the freedom of speech, which Mr Harrison BUTKER exercised, as was his RIGHT, to express his personal views. This blatant anti-Catholicism is disgusting, it is the last acceptable bias. Because none of this would be an issue if Harrison wasn’t white, male, heterosexual, or if he was jewish or muslim.

Texas has a law that assault can be prosecuted even if victim recants because assault is a crime against the Stste of Texas. I doubt this case will be pursued.
Most states are this way, they can prosecute without the 'victim' cooperating. But I think this incident could have been an attempt at a 'money grab'...I don't think Rice did anything to this guy. It will almost certainly be dropped.
