YOU FORGOT THE "SHRIMP PASTE" SAUCE FOR THE GREEN MANGOES.... or salt...
most street foods on skewers comes with some sort of dipping sauce...
GRILLED STUFF mostly goes into vinegar sauce... (cuts the oil with acidity, also probably kills probable bacteria...)
" - - - - - - - BALLS" on skewers mostly goes into the thicker brown sauce (choose between more sweet or more spicy)
filipino dipping sauces is basically a rocket science for foreigners...
AND I DON'T KNOW WHY but most street vendors can't really articulate to foreigners exactly how to do things the right way,
probably a language barrier, or they just assume you know what you're doing...
OR THEY ARE JUST SLOW TO THINK THAT YOU'RE A FOREIGNER NEW TO LOCAL CULTURE...
IT'S ALWAYS BETTER TO ASK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE EATING AND HOW TO DO IT IF UNSURE...
safe travels... and always keep your belongings in front of you...
      👍👍👍👍👍

I love the reckless abandon that you travel with, so many travel vloggers have everything planned out already that they miss the simplistic joy of talking to a guard and finding out about a treat you would have missed otherwise. I always call Piaya the Filipino poptart. The sugar inside is almost a molasses brown sugar called muscovado sugar. The province is Negros Occidental (ox-si-dental) for your own edification. I remember when I was in High School they had a stall for fresh piayaya in the canteen and it's only 5 pesos/pc. It was my first time trying it, it was hot and so gooood. I used to only have 5-10pesos as my lunch money. Sadly they closed it after opening for 3 months only, because most students would only buy that and not buy at any old food stalls setup by the faculty members. 😂 The piyaya always gives me the nostalgia

P40 for the watermelon is a good deal. I live in Manila and a whole watermelon costs P350-400 depending on the weight. I was a vegan for a few years and that's how I used to spend my lunchbreaks - walking around eating a container of sliced fruits. Try the local pineapples when you can. The Philippines is known for having the best pineapples.

Noticed you barehand eat a lot of food after handling cash and had gotten sick a few times while on your trips. Kind suggestion to have some alcohol around at least to help save yourself from some further illnesses. Anyway keep up the great work, always look forward to your videos. Bacolod is the capital of Negros Occidental. On the other side of the island lies Dumaguete, the capital of Negros Oriental. The two provinces speak differently (Cebuano and Hiligaynon/Ilonggo) but understand each other. The place at the beginning of the video is called Provincial Capitol Lagoon. Wait, did you walk from Capitol to Plaza? LOL that's a long walk...
