As postal worker, I am not appalled, I’m upset because never are there a mention of the many great things postal workers do. Letter carriers have saved lives, we have thousands of hours of volunteer service work and we contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity through the combined federal campaign. Going postal is giving back to the community, giving to the less fortunate and caring for the community we live and serve.
Always believed in the whole concept and institution of the postal service. We are grateful and blessed to have our regular carrier for many years. He was our dogs favorite and even came in and spent some time with her when she was passing. We love him like family. Much respect to all postal workers.

I'm fortunate enough to live in Denver and watch Kyle every night. He is one of the best news anchors I have ever seen. Not only is he articulate and professional, but he also has a wonderful dry sense of humor. He knows how to drop a one-liner at the best time that never interferes with his reporting. KUSA 9News, the NBC affiliate here in Denver, has been a springboard for a number of TV journalists who went national. While I believe Kyle could easily make the move to the national stage, I am very grateful that he has chosen to stay here in Denver.

Driving automobiles is inherently dangerous. We require training and testing for operation of cars. Guns are inherently dangerous, yet we allow anyone to own guns without any requirement for the owner to demonstrate safe use of firearms. Why not?
Perfect example of what you just said. Where I live, rifles are legal without registering or any kind of permit. When I was a kid, we had a family friend give us a 1960's Sears .22 rifle. No paperwork. We've owned it for over 20 years now and nobody besides friends or family know it's in our house. So, my point would be that ANYONE could have a gun, or hundreds of guns, even a child, and nobody would know until it's too late. We can just own a rifle here without anyone having a clue, so imagine any other kind of gun, especially ones made for mass-killing.

@59jm24 I agree. In many parts of America, you can buy a car and not have to register it or get a license as long as you don't operate on public roads. You can use it all you want on private property without any testing or training. So we should be able to own any firearm, or accessory we want as long as it is used on private property. Also, the licensing and registration for vehicles take much less time than for firearms and are less intrusive. So I agree, that getting a license for a firearm should be exactly like getting a driver's license or registering a vehicle, including the age requirement.
I sold firearms for more than ten years = I told new gun owners they should attend a firearm safety course at least 50 % of them were offended. Especially women, one came in and said ( I want a gun that will be safe around my kids ). I told her no gun is safe around children and she needed to attend a safety course and then go to a gun range, she was offended and walked away !

Yaay, 9 News for calling out hate when they see it. I'm old now, but my father taught me to use a gun when I was a teenager. He was in the military and maybe he thought it was important back then. He wasn't a hunter. I wasn't either but I wanted to know how to use and handle a gun because it's an American right and it's a good deterrent if someone breaks into your home. But lately I hate all things to do with guns because men and gun associations have lost their minds over assault weapons. There is no need for assault weapons period and all guns should have proper training and licensing. My father said, in his deadly serious tone, "Never point any gun whether loaded or not at another human unless you intend to kill them because accidents happen." Nowadays kids kill kids. Any hospital can confirm these statements. Thank you again 9 News for speaking truth.

I had to wear the key to our gun locker in our hooch because of self-inflicted wounds and death. My men in base camp weren’t allowed their own weapons in 1968-1969 Da Nang during the Tet Offensive. A story rarely told. Never fired a weapon since my tour.

As postal worker, I am not appalled, I’m upset because never are there a mention of the many great things postal workers do. Letter carriers have saved lives, we have thousands of hours of volunteer service work and we contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity through the combined federal campaign. Going postal is giving back to the community, giving to the less fortunate and caring for the community we live and serve.

I'm fortunate enough to live in Denver and watch Kyle every night. He is one of the best news anchors I have ever seen. Not only is he articulate and professional, but he also has a wonderful dry sense of humor. He knows how to drop a one-liner at the best time that never interferes with his reporting.
KUSA 9News, the NBC affiliate here in Denver, has been a springboard for a number of TV journalists who went national. While I believe Kyle could easily make the move to the national stage, I am very grateful that he has chosen to stay here in Denver.

Driving automobiles is inherently dangerous. We require training and testing for operation of cars. Guns are inherently dangerous, yet we allow anyone to own guns without any requirement for the owner to demonstrate safe use of firearms.

Perfect example of what you just said. Where I live, rifles are legal without registering or any kind of permit. When I was a kid, we had a family friend give us a 1960's Sears .22 rifle. No paperwork. We've owned it for over 20 years now and nobody besides friends or family know it's in our house. So, my point would be that ANYONE could have a gun, or hundreds of guns, even a child, and nobody would know until it's too late. We can just own a rifle here without anyone having a clue, so imagine any other kind of gun, especially ones made for mass-killing.

I agree. In many parts of America, you can buy a car and not have to register it or get a license as long as you don't operate on public roads. You can use it all you want on private property without any testing or training. So we should be able to own any firearm, or accessory we want as long as it is used on private property.
Also, the licensing and registration for vehicles take much less time than for firearms and are less intrusive.
So I agree, that getting a license for a firearm should be exactly like getting a driver's license or registering a vehicle, including the age requirement.
I sold firearms for more than ten years = I told new gun owners they should attend a firearm safety course at least 50 % of them were offended. Especially women, one came in and said ( I want a gun that will be safe around my kids ). I told her no gun is safe around children and she needed to attend a safety course and then go to a gun range, she was offended and walked away !

I don't care if people have guns, I sort of don't mind if they carry a gun or conceal it but I do care if they are trained in using it, why is that some kind of horrific idea? Why when I mention that some will scream "infringement" in my face? What are some people actually afraid of?

Yaay, 9 News for calling out hate when they see it. I'm old now, but my father taught me to use a gun when I was a teenager. He was in the military and maybe he thought it was important back then. He wasn't a hunter. I wasn't either but I wanted to know how to use and handle a gun because it's an American right and it's a good deterrent if someone breaks into your home. But lately I hate all things to do with guns because men and gun associations have lost their minds over assault weapons. There is no need for assault weapons period and all guns should have proper training and licensing. My father said, in his deadly serious tone, "Never point any gun whether loaded or not at another human unless you intend to kill them because accidents happen." Nowadays kids kill kids. Any hospital can confirm these statements. Thank you again 9 News for speaking truth.

As a Vietnam disabled Vet who lost 22-American warriors before reaching the beautiful age of 21, who couldn’t vote, weren’t allowed in a public bar and mostly didn’t know a woman in a biblical way, ‘I pray you Good Friday!’ A few died by friendly fire. I had to wear the key to our gun locker in our hooch because of self-inflicted wounds and death. My men in base camp weren’t allowed their own weapons in 1968-1969 Da Nang during the Tet Offensive. A story rarely told. Never fired a weapon since my tour.

A big part of being a gun owner is being a responsible gun owner. It should be used for defense, never for offense. If you think you need to attack someone for opposing your views on guns ownership with violence or threats thereof you probably have no business owning a gun.
