you can NOT turn off the skimmer. As a work around I pulled off the lower cover and plumbed the lower return tube directly to the pump. Took some imagination but got it done.
Where can I find biohome gravel for a good price on order from US? Only thing I can find was 5 pounds for $100. Looking for something a bit less pricy. Can anyone help?
The seachem is pretty much as good a biohome. I run both in many different tanks- they both will reduce nitrates, both keep big fish nitrates around 40ppm on multiple tanks over 120us gallons that were spikeing into the 120-140ppm ranges before water changes. Now there is a difference between the Matrix and local Pumice. I tried to cheap out once and it didn't work as planned.

I'm pretty certain you can turn off the flow to the surface skimmer and only used the bottom That's one of the beauties of this it's so versatile

I watched 3 reviews. I just want to know which way i turn the knob so it unlocks water flow from telescope. I forget and it's not in the owners manual
Turn wheel to left for more skimmer, towards right for more bottom intake
Ordered 55. You can put a piece of foam inside the skimmer section. There's a mod for that on UA-cam

On the surface skimmer grill you could always stick on a smaller grill.
