No it isn't, It was quicker of the line. BMW was faster. Look at the finish speeds the BMW has 123.1 mph the Merc had 120mph. A 1 mile race and the BMW would win. Fast means top end and distance. quick means start from 0. look at a Lambo aventador being quicker than a Veyron at stand still yet lose at end of race cause the veyron is faster. A Porsche spyder 918 smokes a Koenigsegg at stand still. A rolling start and the Koenigsegg annihilate the 918 spyder, it accelerates so much faster. check video " koenigsegg vs 918 spyder" on a huge oval track with rolling start here on the tube.
Ola Hoglund In 0-60 and 1/4 mile time, the wagon gets better times. Bmws struggle with acceleration when the faster they go. You can look at a video of a bmw and mercedes (with the exact same 0-60 and 1/4 mile time) going 0-top speed side by side and the mercedes beats it by almost 20 mph. A 918 beats a koensegg on a roll start around the track by the way
ambis99 the E63 S has got a 6.3 litre V8 engine putting out 500+ hp. Also it's auto and the driver was good so the other cars weren't bad. It's just that this one has more power
The GTR reminds me of me running in track. I have really good starts and still good top speed, but I seem to get caught near the end of the race mainly on 100m and 200m but the 60m I usually win. If this race was 1/2 mile the Nissan GTR would have gotten 2nd maybe 3rd

the Mercedes and Viper are going to blow by it not much longer after that 1/4 mile. GTR is only trapping 125 compared to the other two high 120's. Viper is not going to have a great launch without cooking the tires anyway

To be in the "Best Driver's car" competition, the car must be BRAND NEW or MAJORLY refreshed. That's why the F-type was included, as it is a completely new car. Don't worried when Motor Trend get the Nismo Nissan GT-R on the show it will destroy both the Aventador and MP-4 in this drag race. And it is currently the 4th faster super sport car on the famous Nurburgring as well.
They must have been too scared to have the New ZR-1 in the race. or the new Z06 comming out this fall. plus, if the GT-R didnt have any upgrades/mods it for sure would not have won.

If you think the GT-R's speed has anything to do with "torque to weight" then you're just as big of a fanboi as you sound. Take away the AWD from the GT-R, and that car would lose so much of its performance. It would be in the mid to high 3-s in 0-60 times. The ONLY reason for the speed of this car to 60 mph is AWD.

David Outlaw The Gt had a 1/4 mile time of 11.2 @ 131.2, which means it would place 3rd in the race. Also, it doesn't even have launch control. Also the GT has a top speed over 212 mph, but is limited to 205 mph. Not bad for a car made nearly 10 years ago.
That is correct, but you should also realise how most people can't afford ANY of these cars you've mentioned, sure they all beat the GT-R, but we have to include cheap pricing in what makes a supercar that amazing. I didn't enjoy the race as much admittingly though :/

1/4 mile or race track the GTR is clearly the fastest of this lot. A drag race over a mile might find a different winner but when is that likely to happen? You would most likely die trying on a public road and I don't there are many 1+ mile straight tracks around the world.
Dawson Wicker I think the wagon is also AWD, but then, it's a wagon, it's a family car not a race car. Once you put the GTR with other real AWD race cars, clearly it loses. LP700 beat it easily and cars like Koenigsegg and Bugatti beats everybody.
hmm, the airstrip in the video seems long enough, perhaps they should extend it to a 1/2 mile drag race, I mean, if you noticed the speeds the SLS Black and Viper were going at the ending, it's quite obvious that they're catching the GTR, just that they ended at a 1/4 mile. Ricky Hou the GTR is pretty cheap compared to the bugatti and if they did decide to put a GTR vs the bugatti it would only be fair if the GTR could spend the same amount on mods as it would cost to buy a bugatti
GTR's were seriously good cars (never really my kind of car) But the R35 is getting a little old, they aren't the fastest in a quarter mile anymore even against there actual rivals (high performance to super cars) let alone around a track. Nissan could really use a completely new GTR.
Yp the new GT-R kind of failed me they brought up the GT into the car and got rid of the R. It is a better drivers car but the GT-R was all about that racing design and handle. Hopefully they can comeback with the nismo and maybe set a better lap time on the nurburgring since 2015.

roberto OBRIJANU well, porsche in contrast to nissan doesn't cheat to get a good lap time. the gtr in stock mode did no 7:18 but 7:26, which is slower than the 991 gt3 which has 80hp and 200nm less and due to the lack of a turbo the less aggressive torque line as well^^ the nismo stock mode only did a 7:18 either. in both cases nissan changed the ride height, the camber and the tyre pressure to a level that the car is not street practical anymore, several aero setups, were waiting for the most perfect weather conditions and drove harakiri style.
Did it occur to anyone else, that the GTR was not only the fastest in this lineup, but it is and has been since its birth the fastest 4-seater production car? It humiliates everything that has more than two seats (McLaren F1 excluded)

We had a tuned GTR in our rental fleet a few years back'/!!! Dyno had it putt'N 596/bhp to the wheels'/!!! Zilla was pull'N 2.9/sec from 0-60/mph'/!!!

Let me explain this to all of you. They include cars that are from the "Best Driver's car" competition for that year. To be in the "Best Driver's car" competition, the car must be BRAND NEW or MAJORLY refreshed. That's why the F-type was included, as it is a completely new car. That is also why the SLS AMG Black series ws included, as it is MAJORLY refreshed.

"Smashed" might be a bit dramatic but ok. I would hope that if someone paid half a million dollars for a super car like the 12C or the Aventador, it better beat Godzilla. The GTR Nismo makes 600 HP...but I suspect the Aventador might still eek out win. I'll take the GTR on track day and it's a car you can actually purchase...

Fair enough. The GTR has been the benchmark for super cars for so long that it's easy to forget there are alternatives. For an extra $150,000, Godzilla can be marginally defeated. Case in point, the 911S Turbo. BTW - The McLaren 12C. I guess the "C" stands for CRUSHES! Half a million $!!! Or just get the 650S Spider.

i think it goes by the year the cars come out. Just like wgdr 1 (worlds greatest drag race) was in 2011, wgdr 2 was in 2012 and wgdr 3 in 2013

Don't worried when Motor Trend get the Nismo Nissan GT-R on the show it will destroy both the Aventador and MP-4 in this drag race. And it is currently the 4th faster super sport car on the famous Nurburgring as well.
They must have been too scared to have the New ZR-1 in the race. or the new Z06 comming out this fall. plus, if the GT-R didnt have any upgrades/mods it for sure would not have won.

If you think the GT-R's speed has anything to do with "torque to weight" then you're just as big of a fanboi as you sound.
Take away the AWD from the GT-R, and that car would lose so much of its performance. It would be in the mid to high 3-s in 0-60 times. The ONLY reason for the speed of this car to 60 mph is AWD.

David Outlaw The Gt had a 1/4 mile time of 11.2 @ 131.2, which means it would place 3rd in the race. Also, it doesn't even have launch control. Also the GT has a top speed over 212 mph, but is limited to 205 mph. Not bad for a car made nearly 10 years ago.

That is correct, but you should also realise how most people can't afford ANY of these cars you've mentioned, sure they all beat the GT-R, but we have to include cheap pricing in what makes a supercar that amazing.

1/4 mile or race track the GTR is clearly the fastest of this lot. A drag race over a mile might find a different winner but when is that likely to happen? You would most likely die trying on a public road and I don't there are many 1+ mile straight tracks around the world.

Dawson Wicker I think the wagon is also AWD, but then, it's a wagon, it's a family car not a race car. Once you put the GTR with other real AWD race cars, clearly it loses. LP700 beat it easily and cars like Koenigsegg and Bugatti beats everybody.
hmm, the airstrip in the video seems long enough, perhaps they should extend it to a 1/2 mile drag race, I mean, if you noticed the speeds the SLS Black and Viper were going at the ending, it's quite obvious that they're catching the GTR, just that they ended at a 1/4 mile. Perhaps this year they should do a 1/2 mile one :p
Ricky Hou the GTR is pretty cheap compared to the bugatti and if they did decide to put a GTR vs the bugatti it would only be fair if the GTR could spend the same amount on mods as it would cost to buy a bugatti
GTR's were seriously good cars (never really my kind of car) But the R35 is getting a little old, they aren't the fastest in a quarter mile anymore even against there actual rivals (high performance to super cars) let alone around a track. Nissan could really use a completely new GTR.

Yp the new GT-R kind of failed me they brought up the GT into the car and got rid of the R. It is a better drivers car but the GT-R was all about that racing design and handle. Hopefully they can comeback with the nismo and maybe set a better lap time on the nurburgring since 2015.

roberto OBRIJANU well, porsche in contrast to nissan doesn't cheat to get a good lap time. the gtr in stock mode did no 7:18 but 7:26, which is slower than the 991 gt3 which has 80hp and 200nm less and due to the lack of a turbo the less aggressive torque line as well^^
the nismo stock mode only did a 7:18 either. in both cases nissan changed the ride height, the camber and the tyre pressure to a level that the car is not street practical anymore, several aero setups, were waiting for the most perfect weather conditions and drove harakiri style.
Did it occur to anyone else, that the GTR was not only the fastest in this lineup, but it is and has been since its birth the fastest 4-seater production car?
