Yeah I was wondering that. It really is almost never used as this was its first sounding in about 2 years, so maybe the blower just didn't activate from sitting so long. Maybe if they pressed it again it would work.
Absolutely! Goes to show even without being supercharged these can still be somewhat loud. I'm guessing like Model 2T loud or slightly quieter. & Merry Christmas to you!
I've only ever heard one thunderbolt in person, and it was the one in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Its blower is busted and was not as loud as I thought it would be because I thought the blower would run at least a little bit, but it was also louder than I expected it to be with a completely dead blower.
Seems like they can never make up their minds on it. When I asked them in like 2019, they said it was still in use for “large scale fires or at the cheif’s discretion” and were looking into setting a test schedule
Whoa this is cool! Hopefully you can get them to test it with the blower. Like Jared said, probably just the motor start reset button needs to be pressed.

nice catch!
Nice! Still sounds cool even if the blower isn't working!
Thanks! And yeah it wasn't too bad at all!
i love how the solenoids continue moving on the windown!
Yeah that was a pretty cool factor of it!
This Bolt Used To Be Reversed Wired, How Did The Blower Break? Or Did They Just Not Test It With A Blower.

Great adventure 🤙😎😁
Thanks! Yeah this was a great trip!
Wait! Is this an older 60s unit? and awesome!
I was just as shocked as you when I found out it indeed is a 60's unit! It even has the old 60's AF timer!
I live near this siren. Fun fact: I graduated high school in Massena in 2018.
Nice!!!
Awesome video! I am surprised how loud this 1003 is without being supercharged. I enjoyed the windown.
Thank you! Yeah I was too! The Windown was pretty nice too.

@@J19_vlogger74 Yeah it was louder than i thought with this one!
@@Siren-experiments Also I'd say a Model 2 would be louder than a Thunderbolt with no blower, but I've never heard a Model 2.
I bet the reset on the starter just tripped. Should they ever use it again, it’s just a little button on the starter
Yeah probably, sadly this siren will never be used again and may be removed in the coming years.
Seems like they can never make up their minds on it. When I asked them in like 2019, they said it was still in use for “large scale fires or at the cheif’s discretion” and were looking into setting a test schedule
@@TheSirenSeeker Yes, that was true until now when supposedly its now fully out of service.
Whoa this is cool! Hopefully you can get them to test it with the blower. Like Jared said, probably just the motor start reset button needs to be pressed.
Thanks! Maybe ill catch it someday!
Woah, this is early 60s thunderbolt 1003
And it has the old flasher too
Just like silverstreet and lake bluff
Yeah this is a really cool one!
Cool video
Thanks!
Whoa! Early 60s 1003! Now i wonder if it has a early 4M or 5M blower!
Yeah sadly I can't answer that due to the blower being broken, I am curious though!
@@jjentertainment6011easy to tell, non vented cover 90% possibility of it being a 5M.. vented is 100% 4M.
@@TheSleepyMechanic0524 Thanks for the info, we are pretty sure this is a 5M but if I ever can get a look at it then I'll let everyone know.
@@jjentertainment6011 sounds good. Can always make a tour video haha
@@TheSleepyMechanic0524 Yeah next time im down here I can, I made one two years ago but it sucks lol
I forgot where the thunderbolt 1003 i watch in 2 years. It's like the horn facing down. Its not mineola ny
shamrock tx
Awesome dude! Sucks the blower doesn't work, but great video still!
Thank you! Yeah I was actually surprised it broke during its years of silence!
I saw your review on google for this place
Yeah I did leave one lol
@@jjentertainment6011 cool
@@jjentertainment6011 great reply btw
@Carey_price_is_the_best_goalie thanks, i kind of had to since they risk their lives for everyone else's.
@jjentertainment6011 how loud was it? I went to massena last year but I sadly did not go to see it.
I MISSED IT
Yea, sorry this wasn't a planned test! We can plan a meetup at Waddington though!
Sounds like the Alert Signal
Yeah probably because of the solenoid.
Sounds almost like the one in Shamrock…
It kind of does actually
Broken Solenoid
Yup.
Broken solenoid & blower
Yeah the solenoid has been broken for pretty long
Sound of Siren head dead
@JoseAngel-dp1zl the device in this video has no corelation with sirenhead, it is an outdoor warning siren used for emergencies.
Siren head is siren of emergiece monster
@@SirenHead0505 What?
It’s so fucking loud!
Actually for a siren with no blower I was kinda surprised on its noise level!
:D
Lol
I live in Massena and I didn’t hear a thing so
I see, this siren used to have a working blower which made it much louder. The Blower has since broke making it heard only a few hundred feet away.
I just got told by my dad the it was used during the Cold War and was brought back in April
@@SuperChevy-bg6ip According to the fire chief this siren has been the fire siren since and was recently retired.
Needs new high tone solenoid
Sure does, sadly enough this siren is inactive. The firehouse set it off for me and It was it's first run in a while.
@@jjentertainment6011 if it gets taken down hope someone will obtain it
@@Mike1693_tsmlover Ill try and obtain it if they get rid of it.
