Scoot had about 10 turovers vs. Raptors. Somehow the box score only gave him 4. I think Blazers PR paid off the scorekeeper. Mark them down as "team" turovers ... here's a check.
Fortunately Scoot is a student of the game, when the game slows down for him, and he continues to studying film, and some good training from a retired point guard as a teacher maybe.
@@mhqqiqin_ yeah I don’t think he will be a superstar. Expectations probably won’t be met but if he can get 15-18 with 6-7 assists, he’ll always have a job in the NBA
It's still WAY too early to tell, guys. Idk why ppl project what players will become this early. Dude has played 8 games. There are a lot of really good players & even straight up NBA legends who were flat out bad in their rookie seasons. Even if he finished the year like this, which I doubt he will, it still would be way too soon to tell.
@@floydclark6710 I hope so. He is doing well for the last 2 games. But still, the way he played doesn't do justice to the people who said he is the most NBA ready prospect. Because NBA ready prospect should have translate their game straight way without the narrative of need more time, etc.
@@mhqqiqin_ Ppl say a lot of things. Sometimes we're wrong & sometimes we're right. It's mostly a crapshoot. I personally did not think he was the most NBA ready out of the draft. Not even close. His shooting numbers were bad even in the G League. He's very athletic & very talented, but he's obviously raw. I'm a Blazers fan. I tried to warn my friends that I thought he was gonna struggle. Maybe that's why I'm not panicking. I didn't expect him to open up THIS poorly, but I expected him to struggle & be a net negative player for a while.
This was a brilliant, well thought out analysis. 1000% on point. I see a lot of ppl calling Scoot a bust but none have broken down what he's actually seeing/doing out there, why, and what needs to happen for him to begin to figure it out. I hope the Blazers have someone with your bbiq, vision, & mindset guiding him through this. If we do he'll begin to change the narrative soon. Thanks for posting!! #respect
I’m happy Chauncey aint benching em & letting em learn the hard way, he’ll be fine once he learns to use his eyes out there but it does look like he’s never played organized basketball sometimes 😂😂😂
I agree with everything you are saying but the dude should come into the League with a little more intuitive feel for making the right play, an ability to read defenses and defenders and act accordingly. I am reminded of Ben McLemore, who was terrible at processing, and never figured it out. If Scoot can't shoot that is going to compound matters too but it will lead to forced action in lieu of having a shot.
if he chose the experience and intensity to the early money he could easily start to build his legacy from 1st year 1st matches , he still good but need to make his motor and athleticism to his own plus not his minus and he can make it his benefit ,if he chose to play in college he could learn the making the tempo and right play , and if he gon do that he can be mature point guard and future all star from now
MOST NBA players start peaking at about age 26. This guy has a long way to go and the media is going to trash him every step of the way. He'll be making millions of dollars though. He will be okay. The Blazers are going to suck for a long time until they get more vets, so buckle up for the ride. Not sure if Billups is the coach for this task.
just being a rookie, he didnt read the play.... he doesnt know what he is doing, his teammate doesnt know what he is doing as well, plus he need to make a shot basically 15 to 24ft nowdays, he cant be a treat with that 8% 3pt... it will take time, probably 3 to 4years before he gitgud
I hear PGs take a bit longer to develop than other positions b/c your IQ needs to be higher than say a wing player or a big. Great breakdown btw… yeah homie is struggling… I’m wondering now if he was picked too high… I don’t think they should trade him yet either. Keep him in the rotation-worst case you lose and get a good pick in the future (I don’t know if they own the rights to their picks this season or not), or best case he just develops. It’s looking rough for them this season though…
I just thought it was funny people put him in rookie of the year contender when he wasn't even dominating the g-league. His potential might be great, but he needs to develop a lot. Its not Wemby walking in to being the best defender in the league
Everything that Scoot can't do, in terms of throttling his motor, Fox can do. But Fox was better in his rookie season. I've seen every game he's played, I ought to know. 😁

i aint even watched the video that thumb nail actually made me laugh out loud talkin bout trading him 🤣🤣
We saw this with darius garland 😂 media called him the worst pg in the league, a season later he was ballin out.
Winston Garland was his dad so that gives Darius a huge advantage over players that don't have fathers that were NBA players.
Can you analyze ausar Thompson game next ? Your channel is a breathe of fresh air bruh
Love the breakdown bro. He definitely have a lot of work to do but with time, experience and work ethic, he can be a solid point guard
I agree that he still can be a solid PG, but our expectations is raised to think that he will be a superstar not just solid.

Great video. Your break down can help many. Keep working.

Someones gotta be a bust and it isnt looking like Wemby or Miller.

Chauncey is telling Scoot to go faster....
What I'm afraid of when he continually playing the way he is right now is if his teammates stop trusting him.

Scoot stop driving and take mid range fade aways with 3s until all teams dont ZONE guard you
critcism is very helpful cause damn near as talented is ez to say - wait till coach isos him
NEED AMEN THOMPSON BREAK DOWN ..... JUST SUBED💯🔥
Great Breakdown
Late bloomer. Hoping to see improvements like Shaedon Sharpe has taken and Anfernee
