Your right any horse should not be afraid of anything we are going to do with them but there are people who abuse and mistreat horse leaving behind mental and phisical scaring to the abused. Rescue horse are always going to be a challenge but it is well worth your while and you benefit the rewards of bringing a horse back from being abused. Good job with it and let us know how it goes.
You are very welcome, I am really happy that the video helped you and your horse out. I am going to be in the U.K in Sept. I will be in Essex, Leigh-On-Sea, Scotland, and in Northern Ireland. Let me know if you are near any of those places.
Thank you! You are now the 3rd person I've found using this rope technique. I'm going to use your tips this week with my 4 yr old Arab who has head issues...on the right side only, but will also not a bit well at all. I'm very short and need her to get her head down and she just throws it around. Nobody ever worked with her before me so these are great tips for us. I'm looking forward to more videos!

You are very nice and gentle with horses. There was an interesting study done in Australia that found that horses heart rates and stress levels were much lower when wearing a bitless bridle and, surprisingly, they stopped better when a bit wasn't used.
So at this point with your horse just ask him to lower his head as I did with the horse in the video, after he is really really good at it then you can start running your hand over his ears like I did in the video. then you can go the halters and bridles. If he throws his head in the air just stay where you are and wait for his head to come back down like I did with this horse in the video. Assembleing the bridle on him is fine for right now
Hi Anya, Just do what I did in this video, after he is good with your hands going over his hear then go to a lead rope, rag, and other things and that should help you out.
That is great news that she is coming along for you, I Live in California, I tour the U.K and other country''s over there each year in problem solving horses, starting the unbroke horse, and in general horsemanship. Let me know what area you are located int and perhaps in 2014 I can do some training in your area
Great video.Glad you have comments on your page. Some top people disable them. YOU should always respond back. If you cant someone that works with you who knows horse should. Just some advice. I Don't see much replies.
Hi, Just work on what I dd in this video and that should solve your problems with your ear shy horse, I also have another 3 or 4 video's on youtube for head and ear shyness, let me know how it turns out
HI Becky I got that video up for you on horse that are shy of water and water hoses called "Horse Fear, water and water hoses with Mike Hughes" Hope it helps
You are welcome, keep me updated on how she does and how she comes along, if there are any other video's you would like to see let me know and I will get them up for you.
I think I might be in Yorkshire next year. There was a lady who was very interested in me doing a demo in her area in 2014. If you are on facebook come and join the group page that will keep you informed of the tours. The group page is Called Crib-Free, it is the only group page with that name.
Thank you so much!! I hope this works. My 16.2 hand horse was on the race track so they twitched his ears so he is super head shy. He lets me touch his ears but the minute I bring out the bridal he throws his head way up. I will try this. Thank you!! I'll let you know how it goes!!!

I have watched countless videos, read many things, I have tried everything and I cannot for the life of me get my horse over her head shyness. She'll let me touch her face, her halter is no problem, occasionally she's okay with me touching her ears ( though her right is worse), but as soon as I attempt to but the bridle on, she will not have it, she'll completely back up and walk away

Just remember what you do on one side, you must do on the other and that includes getting the horse from being mounted from the right side.
