Great intervieiw, although these people in your comment section are a joke lol. I bet they here the truth over and over and still perform mental gymnastics.
What is transgender liberation ? Does that mean accepting a man as a woman and visa versa ? Does that extend to transracial’s too .... if not why not ? Where do these concepts come from ? And are they equal to the concept of racial equality ? What is the meaning of gay marriage , and is that liberation ? Marriage from a historical , social and religious perspective has always been the foundation of the family and then the nation. Gay marriage is not at the foundation of the family or nation. The basis of one is human desire and the other is human necessity. That does not mean those ways if life do not exist but holding them up as a sign of justice and freedom is not the same as our God given right of racial equality. Mr Hill does make relevant points but do not agree with his comments on gay marriage and transgenders.
I read Nobody. He did a great job painting the backdrop of the killing of Blacks by the police. However, this was more details and not really progressing the discussion. I like Marc and am interested in the next project he will produce.
Wait…..Marc Hill is going to be an architect of how this country will look after the election?…..Marc Lamont Hill?………Ok….Says who? The hookah smoking caterpillar?
This is about slavery and blame, racism and blame, money and who has it, blame who has it, mass incarceration and blame, blame gentrification, blame inequality, blame systematics, blame the government, blame segregation, blame humanity, blame cops, killings and blame, blame the reason, show Furguson and blame, show one thing, show two things, then blame and offer your book, then ask why?
+Carlton White Nothing on accountability, he never offers a solution, it's all blame. He said " of course black community has more arrest because that's where the police are" . He also said Korin Gains was shot by police because of a traffic stop. This he states as fact and that is clearly not what happened and shows his narrative.
+Carlton White I listen to this again. The election, invisible to the country , organized the bottom, the BLM. The rest, broken windows is blame. He could inflict change , he's smart, people like to listen to him, he could really be the change factor. That's my problem with him, it's all, excuse me, most all of his agenda is blame, stuff we already know, another talking head to point to the problem. What we need is solutions, the hard part.
as a black man, I genuinely HATE Marc Lamont Hill. He so loves his victim status that he denounces even his own work to luck in order to paint himself as a victim. smh
I want you to read Pedro Noguera "The Trouble with Black Boys" and see that he writes essentially the same thing Marc Lamont Hill is saying. Success within black males who come from poor neighborhoods is sometimes attributed to luck. Read it so you can have a better understanding and perspective of what he's saying.
Dee T I dont really care to. Im not going to allow another negro to convince me that my success and accomplishments are due to luck. I work hard like any white man to get where I am.
Not all of your success was due to luck. A lot of your success was probably dependent on a white person using their discretion to give you a shot. You think most black people can assimilate into a white dominated society? Don't use your anecdotal situation as a reflection on the rest of black America. I am black and in corporate as well, but I'm not ignoring the systematic obstacles that most black people have to climb in order to attain economic success.
I can agree with that. From my personal experiences, it's been a combination of genetics, luck, and somebody (white) giving me a shot that carved my future and success. But I know exactly what Marc is saying.
Thank you for uploading!
Analysis to organise! 🌍
MARC LAMONT HILL IS TOUGH! I ADMIRE HIM! HE IS A GENTLEMAN AND MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A BLACK MAN/ THANK YOU 💯💯🖤
Great interview...
Good interview Marc
The police are out there terrorizing and murdering unarmed black folks on a daily basis with impunity.
Humility and intelligence personified! ⚖
Any point/era in Black History is relevant. I LOVE Dr M.L. Hill.
In conflicting with the title, I support Dr. Marc Lamont Hill.
