Hello Dread, about endgame, I love solving problems of my characters. So most of the time, I like when an endgame system points at the issues of my current build, then I farm to fix those, and when I manage to fix it and clear a content it couldn't do before, it's the best feeling ever. I can find that in many many games. Once everything is solved, I generally don't stay very long, I farm a bit, then I either make a new build on that character or another one, in order to again experience the same "challenge". But I really enjoy farming in slormancer even when my character is "solved" I can keep going and the forge is probably one of the reasons, the gameplay is good enough and the progression of every forge is a little different, so I don't get bored of it.
when it comes to end-end-game systems i enjoy the systems where i can reach a point of "brain-off-blasting". It is an enjoyable part of ARPGs to struggle and have to think about what iam doing and how iam doing it. But if it comes to grinding in ARPGs I prefer a system where i can turn my brain off and just blast and kill monsters. I can't play focused 8 hours (at least not for days and weeks) and systems that require me to be focused all the time will just burn me out faster.
Do you mind listing some games that match this style of yours?

Its ok it made me chuckle when I thought of the thumbnail.
I picked up the game based on you recommendation and imo it has the makings of a great ARPG. The endgame loop is as you said extremely fun, the combat is satisfying and the feeling of getting progressively stronger is there without being extremely grindy. I have been playing it as my only game non-stop since downloading it. The great forge reminds me of the Ultimatum mechanic from POE which is one of my favorite leagues.
There are ofc few issues with the game and the main one imo is performance the fps drops are brutal but rn I'm enjoying it immensely. Thank you for making content about the game and drawing attention to it. Hopefully the devs get the support they deserve.

Torchlight infinite mapping system is one of the better endgame systems imo
But the maps suck
Tl infinite has a better endgame loop than Diablo 4 and its a Shame for Diablo. Ive got The game but mainly i Just played campaign. Endgame is sooooo dumb

Very interesting take. I must admit I tried out the forge and fairly quickly moved on.
Personally for now I find Slormancer way too grindy with all the content being artificially inflated by just being huge grinds. I know this is an EA thing and the devs have stated that.
After watching this I'll be looking forward to trying out the forge some more when the game is fully released.
