I have been useing the under floor trick for about a year now and everyone does it the same 2 large boxes and one small but what i have kept to myself is if you angle them slightly you can fit 4 large boxes with the same method
For hiding loot the #1 thing you should remember is MAKE SURE TO LEAVE _SOME_ GOOD STUFF FOR RAIDERS TO FIND. If you don't they'll get suspicious and keep looking.
Benjamin's junkyard bases were a staple of Rusty no wipe for over a year! Raiding it at the end of wipe as he watched like a proud father as we wasted stacks of boom looking for his shekels was a great time! Awesome to see this shout out for such an underrated builder!
The underwater loot is so cool! This is like something a pirate would do! And maybe after this video, people will start treasure hunting the ocean looking for sleeping loot
@@MisterFlak also in your demonstration of the underwater loot. It looked like there was no vegetation where your friend was logging off at. Logging off in some coral and algae would make finding a needle in a stack much harder

Wow, I'm now thinking about all of the bases I raided that weren't profitable, but could have had a box of rockets hidden in the wall that I never found
This are the best tricks I ever saw in Rust - I just built a 2. base to test it - works great! I decided to ad behind the "honey comb - hidden room" a horse house so they won't blow through that many walls at that position. Thanks for that great video!
God damnit Flak. Stop giving away the good shit to the masses! I also learned a lot of this from Benjamin (I actually am the one who requested him to make that video you linked to lol). There are 3-4 methods for hidden loot that I use and I try to incorporate at least 2 or 3 of them into each base I build. I also always build on the shore and then build an auxiliary boat base next to my main base that also has some hidden loot. Spread your loot around between all of these various places (enough mats to seal your base / start a new one, some tools, some kits, some boom), and you'll still always have enough to build back after being raided without having to start over from scratch. It really is the best strategy. But as I'm saying "shut up," I've also seen that friend-in-the-ocean trick... and I definitely want to try that. But I'm concerned about shark attacks... might not be viable anymore with those.
Hiding the loot under the floor with the 1 pixel gap is very noticable from the outside since walls look different from foundations. You would need to honeycomb all around the sides, for this to make it unoticable from the outside. This might be posible to pull of in a 4x4 config though..
That human loot box is a genius idea! You wouldn't even need to go that fat out. You could build a base close to the water and have the 'human box' just a click away!
#1 problem is after raider gets inside and doesn't find the TC and sees he is still building blocked he will know something is up, then he will find your triangle using a building plan and softside it.
The floor-hiding not working for me (Rust version 2314.216.1). I can certainly see through the gap, but can't open the boxes. The wall-hiding still seems to work ;-)
A recommendation. Leave half your resources in those hidden stashes and the rest on the normal boxes. Why? Well, if you have a base that suspiciously doesnt have any single good resource you will be suspicious of it. If you leave half of it, it will be more convincing, and even if you lose half your resources, you wont lose them all because of some curious raider.

Just because there might be something else hidden somewhere.... or because they are assholes, but i cant really prove which.
@@auri1075 yup, but there goes half your loot, AND your tc, also it means that the bag inside your base was broken and means that theres no way to get the other half of your loot unless u spawninside and softside a stone wall, which you probs wont be keeping like 10picks tsking up space in you base, what if someone passes by and just chills there

@@babbalalla4540 yes i believe its been changed to 11 triangles out instead of whatever it is in this video. so place a square, then 11 triangles, then place the square off of the 11th triangle, delete the triangles, build squares back to the original square, and delete the extra squares.. i havent tried this build in a couple of weeks though so im not positive. theres newer videos for hiding loot now explaining any changes
Sounds like the game needs to set up traps for the esp hackers.... bait bases and bait sleepers hidden well and automatically flag any account who finds any of this stuff

well i certainly use misdirection. im a noob to this game i dont know how many rockets it takes to bla bla bla. i hide shit in odd unpredicatable locations, and of course all my tunacan lamps are filled with all my lowgrade

How are u going to get out of the wall? They destroyed your tc, broke your bag, sealed the door, created an enterance for them selves on your roof, and people who have rockets to raid a stome 2x2 will have a bigger base and wont take yours over
Stability bunker under tc room, bait a prim into killing you "right as you add the doors" and he'll be quite likely to claim the base and use it if it's a decent size.
In my experience, the foundation gap trick is the most well known and the easiest to detect (experienced raiders can tell very easily when something that should be a foundation is actually a floor, and thus something tricky is probably going on). It'll absolutely still fool on a ton of people; but it's something that a lot of raiders specifically look out for. I also wouldn't use the fireplace for the same reason - people have been using fireplaces to hide loot in various ways for ages, and experienced raiders know this. The "go with the RP look" is 50/50. You have to really sell it. If your base is otherwise a strong and efficient base, and you just have this out of place fireplace there, it will look suspicious. I'd find something more "normal" to use as subterfuge instead. Just my opinions and what I've seen.
That is why I dont hide the boxes on the bottom floor, you can build up and put the boxes in pancake layers, it’s quite tricky but if you know how, you can put it inside the pancake layer between first floor and second floor, or even better put pancake layers between all floors of the base and put the pixel gap floors
With that floor secret stash, couldn't you place the box on the ground and build the spaced foundation in top so raiders don't discover it checking the stability?
This made me think of cave bases. You know how you can place large boxes, furnaces and stuff sort of inside the walls in a cave? Without glitching, Im sure you know what I mean, well imagine having a box accessible from a closed off section of the cave with a bag, the tc, a box etc, but its walled off and you transfer the loot thru the cave wall, that'd be even better and you'd probably never lose that base.
I would build alot of those small storage hiders in my compound, even if raiders wanted to raid it, it would cost 4 rockets per 2 boxes and you can always upgrade to sheet metal
The underwater thing can be done with a alt account, just make another steam account and buy rust during a sale and boom. Another new method is the trailers, since they don’t decay 100% and are left with 1hp left they are amazing for underwater storage
There are at least half a dozen videos on UA-cam about the pixel gap that are almost a year old. It's probably the new most well known hidden loot trick.
Welp. I guess those secret ploys I've been using are about to be a whole lot less secret! (Although since submarines were added, the underwater loot has felt much more precarious)
@@MisterFlakfolks not seeing me use them is the name of the game. My fav wipe was me (rp solo) thumbing my nose at the neighbouring clan. Even took heli from a base they'd raided. (They then reraided it, but since I was a rat living in the honeycomb, they never found me.)

@@MisterFlak Hey Mister Flak love your videos, I don't know if you have knowledge or not but you can place a high external wall on water and diving under the external and have hidden loot inside high external wall (bug) :)
@@MisterFlak Yep, BBQ trick still works. You have to place it on a triangle foundation in just the right spot. What i usually do is build the base with the honeycomb, but keep the interior wall of one of the honeycomb open. Then you can just sit there safely and try it multiple times until you get it right. Place BBQ, place twig wall, see if it works. If not, destroy twig wall, pick up BBQ, and try again. (Obviously practice in a build server first. But even still, I usually have to do it a couple times). I also add a half wall shelf inside the honeycomb - you can get 2 BBQs behind one wall that way. A good trick is to upgrade the foundation to metal, and then you can use the squares on the texture as guides to get it consistent once you figure out the correct placement.
Funny to see that they haven't fixed this glitch yet. Can use it to make a suicide bunker with a box clipping through the wall to transfer loot. This combined with a traditional breakable bunker allows for some very strong&cheap base designs.
Honestly disgusting. Virtually impossible to find it. I have extra copies of Rust so when I play solo I just spawn in with my alt accou t and go sleep somewhere I. The ocean and then log into main and use my other me as a loot box. Ty dude
@@MisterFlak I'd imagine they could easily write some code to detect that gap and just artificially close it / expand the foundation 1px to fill in the gap / fill it with some sort of hidden barrier to make it impossible to loot through / etc. In the same way that they can detect two foundations being too close to each other and not letting you place it. You could reuse the same detection aspect of that system to find a gap within congruous foundations and then take care of it in multiple ways. Or if the cause of the bug truly is what you described with the triangle foundations being 1px shorter, they could likely correct that on the triangles in a way that wouldn't break the mechanics. They could definitely come up with a solution without having to redo their entire building system. But like a lot of these glitches and exploits that have been around, they just don't fix them lol which works for me!

They patched the original gap but there's a work around. Just build out 2 triangles further on the original footprint and the gap will reopen

Honestly I've done tons of glitches in the past and I never see peoe use them. It's cool to watch but most just don't use them, or look for them lol
@@MisterFlakfolks not seeing me use them is the name of the game. My fav wipe was me (rp solo) thumbing my nose at the neighbouring clan. Even took heli from a base they'd raided. (They then reraided it, but since I was a rat living in the honeycomb, they never found me.)

Edit: any tips on opening the boxes under the floor easier?
I usually stand over the gap, look straight down and then rotate left or right with the mouse to turn in a circle. It's easy to hit it like that

Yeah if you put 15 triangles there would be a wider gap but then the socket won't connect and the further square won't form part of the TC.

@@MisterFlak Hey Mister Flak love your videos, I don't know if you have knowledge or not but you can place a high external wall on water and diving under the external and have hidden loot inside high external wall (bug) :)

@@MisterFlak Yep, BBQ trick still works. You have to place it on a triangle foundation in just the right spot. What i usually do is build the base with the honeycomb, but keep the interior wall of one of the honeycomb open. Then you can just sit there safely and try it multiple times until you get it right. Place BBQ, place twig wall, see if it works. If not, destroy twig wall, pick up BBQ, and try again. (Obviously practice in a build server first. But even still, I usually have to do it a couple times). I also add a half wall shelf inside the honeycomb - you can get 2 BBQs behind one wall that way. A good trick is to upgrade the foundation to metal, and then you can use the squares on the texture as guides to get it consistent once you figure out the correct placement.

Funny to see that they haven't fixed this glitch yet. Can use it to make a suicide bunker with a box clipping through the wall to transfer loot. This combined with a traditional breakable bunker allows for some very strong&cheap base designs.
Honestly I don't think they can patch it. Unless they redo their entire building system

Honestly disgusting. Virtually impossible to find it. I have extra copies of Rust so when I play solo I just spawn in with my alt accou t and go sleep somewhere I. The ocean and then log into main and use my other me as a loot box.

@@MisterFlak I'd imagine they could easily write some code to detect that gap and just artificially close it / expand the foundation 1px to fill in the gap / fill it with some sort of hidden barrier to make it impossible to loot through / etc. In the same way that they can detect two foundations being too close to each other and not letting you place it. You could reuse the same detection aspect of that system to find a gap within congruous foundations and then take care of it in multiple ways. Or if the cause of the bug truly is what you described with the triangle foundations being 1px shorter, they could likely correct that on the triangles in a way that wouldn't break the mechanics. They could definitely come up with a solution without having to redo their entire building system. But like a lot of these glitches and exploits that have been around, they just don't fix them lol which works for me!
