Ross Scott as the Shogun was the funniest and most unexpected thing in this video, cool beans. That being said, the effort put into this is really cool.
I like to think that the ninja pilot isn't shooting shuriken and stuff out of his plane. He's got the cockpit open and is standing in his seat, lobbing them by hand.
I'm rewatching this much later, and it just occurred to me: You're voicing Tee-Bee, but when making up a line that he'd said, you're impersonating him with your regular voice..... Not sure if one would call that "attention to detail", but I'm very impressed :)
Video System was always doing this sort of thing. Turbo Force and Rabbit Punch come to mind. Likewise, when they later went on to form Psikyo, a lot of their earlier titles, such as the Strikers games, the Sengoku Ace series, and Gunbird, though not quite as bizarre, maintained their flippant and often completely random nature. Hell, this was the case until Dragon Blaze in 2000, whose endings are almost too outrageous to be believed. By that time, though, they were focusing mainly on the Taisen Hot Gimmick series. Weird for its own reasons, but not quite what we're looking for...
Simply put, one of your best videos by far. While the game isn't the weirdest you've shown, everything else was really entertaining and the characters where wacky enough.
If you ever have to destroy aliens with Laser Jets in space, Tom, I will gladly along with you. As a side note, I want the Idol's plane (if it isn't a figment of her imagination, or movie prop) because it can stop time.
The movie reveal is easily dismissed since it could just be an adaptation of the events, which is a fairly logical thing to happen in the good ending. This leaves two possibilities: either it's a video game in a girl's dream, or a girl's dream in a video game. Or you can use that old trope that all fictional worlds actually exist in a single interconnected dream world.

Keaton and Keith are the most ironic characters in this game, because just like most of the other ones they are stereotypes, but being actual military guys makes them grounded compared to a idol or a viking piloting a jet. But that changes in second game onwards, because while Keith is nowhere to be seen, they turn Keaton into a cyborg... thing.

I played Rabbit Punch when it was in an arcade when I was a teenager. I think most shmup games are very boring except for Parodius, so something with cute bunny robot-plane-things kept me entertained... for maybe five minutes.
LOL, "several more ditches". Great voice acting (and robot voice processing) for the onscreen characters -- I initially mistook the audio clips as original to the game. I like cut scenes in video games because I see graphics and movements that I wouldn't see during gameplay, and that helps me get into the story. During gameplay, I have full control of the camera, and I don't know who's going to speak or act next, so how should I know where to move the camera to see someone's reaction? I guess when something important is happening, the camera could automatically move to it, but that would only work during a fight. During a conversation, I'd just see dialog boxes or subtitles and people standing. To see their faces, I would have to zoom in or switch to my character's perspective, and even then, I wouldn't be able to see my character's face. Facial expressions are very important in stories. Hmm. Okay. To keep flow going, how about whenever a cut scene starts, you get the option to switch to full control mode where you can control your character while dialog happens along with the option of skipping it entirely? Some of us don't have the habits that you do. I personally need several weeks to get through a game like Arkham Asylum since I take time away from fighting bad guys and solving puzzles to check out the features and surroundings on the first run. We all have different tastes and different approaches to gaming. That I can respect. What bugs me is your Avengers comparison. No. It's not like that. It's not about information dump. It's about establishing character. How can you get into your character if all you see of him is his back or his hands when important stuff is happening? It worked in Portal because it was faceless robots talking and not much story. The Avengers has scenes of people doing little else besides explaining plot and motivation. Those are your cut scenes. Those cut from the action. You can't have a movie that's all action. I understand what you're trying to say, but you can't use a movie as an example since there's no difference in control as you experience it.

Well he did mention the series gets weirder. I hope just about every Psikyo game is on that massive list. You could devote an entire episode just to Flash/Flush/Ayin/Aine; of particular note is all his Gunbird 2 co-op endings and his reaction to being asked if he would like to travel to a land inhabited by nothing but strong men in Tengai/Sengoku Blade (really you need to hear it in the Saturn version that has actual voice actors). Also that time he was macking on Ryu in the Capcom/Psikyo crossover mahjong game.
Technically, they're actually correct by putting "star" in quotes, if a bit outdated. It used to be commonplace to put metaphorical terms in quotes, much like how it also used to be commonplace to write "tomorrow" as "to-morrow" and "morrow" was actually used as its own word. As she is not literally a star, to properly write it, you would put "star" in quotation marks, as she is a metaphorical "star". This is one of those situations in which the translation is messed up by them doing their research TOO well. That said, putting "shogun" in quotes like they do implies he's not ACTUALLY a "shogun", like you suggested. Ironically, this means that the statement "This English is 'bad'" is actually accurate, because the English is better than most Americans', and it looks wrong because it's using rules of grammar we usually overlook. Although it messes up elsewhere (though it's still better than most UA-cam comments).

I think they have automatic takeoff, and just like in videogame, she has limited control, the scenery just scrolls along. Because it's her dream and things don't have to make total sense there. Because she dreams the same arcade videogame that Kohful is playing.
