Both real and fictional Jordan Belfort seems like the sort of guy who will make money because he knows how to sell whether it be stocks or motivational speeches. I've had friends like this. One of them once said 'they don't know how to spend their money, it's better off with me" on one of many nights he shouted me to the strip club. It kinda frightens me that people can be like that, or that they're SO motivated to manipulate people for money.

I watched 60 min interview of Jordan Belfort. My opinion: He hasn't changed. People don't change. His smile said those were the good times. He justified he swindled money from the rich so that's ok. He founded a company in Australia so the authority can't reach him easily. He made a biz contract orally not to leave a trace. I wouldn't want someone like him near me.

From a morality standpoint, he is heartless but the lifestyle being completely rich without a care in the world is kind of a dream. Of course, no drugs and the hookers part. He lived a lifestyle where he didn't have to worry about anything and of course he misses that lifestyle, people like them always do. It really is a waste because he wasted his life on drugs and he can't be happy.

Totally agree. People don't seem to make the difference between a movie to entertain and the reality of what it really is. Traders like this just burn middle class people's money to get their commission, they don't care that these people have families, are retired, have been working hard for almost 40 years to earn that exact money... At least with drug dealers you know exactly what you're buying and getting into, and your money doesn't suddenly disappear in 2-3 days.

Matthew McConaughey improvised the chest beating thing. Scorsese saw this and asked him to do it without Leo knowing. That's why Leo's looking around like "is this a joke".
Ludes! He's right, if you didn't live in the 70s or 80s, you missed out on a great high! My Mom gave me half of hers. I learned quickly to fight the urge to sleep. Went to school high many days. I was an AB student. I often wonder if I stayed away from them, would I have had a higher GPA. It was 3.8 when I graduated.

Honestly, I don't know where to start
    1. Flabbergasted by the fact that Jordan gets to make speeches at Oxford. For what? FOR CHEATING? What kind of an ideal are those Oxford students gonna get?
    2. Why does Scorcese keep idolizing only criminals, gangsters and thugs? Even the last scene is all about how Leo is playing tennis in jail. WTF?
    3. And why do so many youtubers keep inviting him for speaking? Whats there to learn from him? How can we trust a con-man?
Almost feels as if this Jordan guy seems to be the gopher to usher in something far more sinister. To lower the morals of the youth. Funded and acted by Caprio and Scorcese?? WTF?
