The Coat.
In 1993 I was 13. Was the end of 7th grade. Tests. Worry. The Summer! As we tested for our end scores at the end of 7th grade I started throwing up a lot and then while walking the halls to art class my legs collapsed under me. That was the start of four months while a brain tumor slowly killed me. While I was sick with cancer my older brother David joined the Navy and took off up north. He bought a goose down trench coat to stay warm. He wore it for years then it came to me. Cancer left me very cold natured so I wore it for 12 years. Out of the blue I contacted Ray Hamptom who was the pastor that looked after me when I was 13 and going through cancer.
I was given a new coat so I packed the trench coat in my car and left to go see Ray. Had a great visit with an old friend and left. Up the street was a gas station and it was cold. I pulled in, got out and saw a man standing by the door. Homeless. I asked him if he needed a coat. He said "Yes" and I said "It's a trench coat". After I said that the man squealed with joy and said "I was just praying for a trench coat". When God uses you. He let me hear that squeal of joy. He shared. He always does! He's a GOOD FATHER!!
