On minute 1:10, he seemed to adjust the elevation turret. I hear that it's a common mistake in almost every sniper movie, that he should do it only in the shooting range to zero in the scope, not in actual mission. Is this correct ?
+tanayayt It's adjusted for a certain distance at the shooting range. But if the conditions are different they might have to make some on-the-spot tweaks.
+tanayayt here is a longer explanation: if you zero the sight in the range at a certain distance, you have to adjust accordingly to account for longer or shorter distances. at longer distances one has to also take into account the bullet drop (depending on the weight, air pressure, humidity), temperature of the gun powder (meaning how quickly it burns) and so forth. sniper rifles have firing tables for that, to be filled in according to a weapons' characteristics using calculations. also the angle the shots are taken at, shooting level is not the same as shooting up or down 70 degrees. wind speed, direction and the coriolis effect also come to play at longer distances and has to be adjusted accordingly (horizontally). of course it's possible to shoot without adjusting the scope at all, provided you know how much you have to aim higher or lower.

Now I understand...I accidentally came across "Ott Sepa Klass" episode :) and the first thought that came to my mind was an Estonian movie - I don't now the orginal title nor english but i think it was sth with "our clas/classmate"(??)... Anyway Tujurikkuje its great. I am starting to be a fan of it too ... especially when I maneged to turn the subtitles on and was able to understand finally what they were talking about :)))
