Thanks for the memories. I was a Missile Launch Officer in the 89th TMS A Flight from June 1985 - May 1988. One of the experiences I will never forget.
No way.... that is me at 3:52 and 3:58. Wow, that was a blast of a dispersal. I did 5 in my short time there. How did this picture get out? I have no idea. Thank you to whomever did this video. I was so fortunate to be stationed there at WAS. Though it was short, it was a blessing. Jeff Blovat (retired F/Sgt 222 CACS). 🇺🇸😎😳
Thanks for making the before and after video. I listened to that music on the radio (1988-89) as the sun set over the hunsruck and thought how beautiful. I've revisited Hahn ( found the bulldog hanger) , MT (now a recycling center) the future MT bunker ( for sale) and Wushiem ( a techno center). Collected some signs and things and Its the past but I like to revisit it every once in a while. Thanks for posting.
Went here in the eighty's to see the missile site. An airman showed us 96 crosses on the hill to represent the amount of nuclear missiles there. Not many videos out there on this cold war site. Its a shame no one really seems interested in this when it really hit me hard as a 19 year old airman seeing this place.
unbeleavible, a military station in the past and is now the greatest electronic music open air festival in the world! It is now used from the german military for training in communication and will be closed 2019 for construction work.

Very few people get the chance to really be a part of history. I'm glad I had the chance at WAS. Thanks for posting.
Perfect Song for this Video. Sent shivers up my spine, & a tear in my eye, Wow!

2004-2006 mein Übungsplatz !!!!WELTKLASSE!!!!
I would occasional pull duty a Wuscheim (50th SPS), often at the front gate.
Arrived in 85. DET1, building infrastructure and making repairs to the originals. Remember Green Peace Camp outside of front gate.
Been there a few times to do service work from Hahn AB.
Well, that was a quelude flashback. I think the guy at 3:47 looks like Pee Wee, but I'm not totally sure.
Gute Fahrt
left it with everthing so new, and see it abandoned... sad.
I was there from 84 - 88 (before the base was complete)
Actually this base had been (maybe will become again, hopefully not) a way smarter concept than digging ICMBs in the deserts of Arizona.
